PNW Blue Shroom ID Request

Habitat: among woodchips and grass under blackberry vines along a grazing field fence.
Gills: Attached, white, and very close together
Stem: Blue
Cap: Blue, 2cm diameter, thick slimy pellicle observed The entire blue layer can be removed, and then it is white beneath it.
Spore print color: Working on it...
Bruising: None observed
Location: B.C. Canada

Hmmm, looked it up and it says that grows in New Zealand? And the stem is mostly solid, with just a small hole running down it, and definitely not twisted, as the description suggests.

Yeah i saw that too so i seached to see if it grew in Canada and it does. Im not sure but its a definate possibility.

blue stropharia such as Stropharia aeruginosa is a strong liklihood. would you call the gills pale on not white?

Since this thing seems to have a clear veil I'd say it's a Stropharia aeruginosa. As far as I know only St. Aeruginosa and St. caerulea look like this and since the St. caerulea doesn't really have a veil, it's more likely to be a Aeruginosa.

Hey, thanks alot. Stropharia aeruginosa fits it perfectly...the spore print still isn't done, but there were flecks of dirt where the veil would be and remnants around the cap, and this mushroom was extremely slimy, as suggested. I suppose the gills were pale, but about 99% white, regardless.

when i was a noobie a few years back i had picked some stropharia aeruginosa thinking they were psilocybe cause they were blue. keep trying man! i am still searching for my first cyans in the lower mainland. liberty caps i can find but i want cyans!!!!!!
