Everything's all falling together (except for the weather). My trip is coming up, to the Pacific Northwest, and I'm leaving Friday afternoon. My car is in tiptop shape, I've been buying new parts for it and replaced the rear suspension. I've got all my backpacking gear ready too and I resealed my gortex jacket. I bought some rain panchos too.
But the weather, it's rain, snow, sleet, everywhere along the sierras and the cascade mountains. This will be an interesting drive, i hope I don't end up getting stuck in snow haha. I'm getting some diamond-pattern snow chains.
This shroomery gathering should be fun!

I like anything and everything, but lately I'm leaning into the Jam Band and the Bluegrass: Yonder Mountain, Tea Leaf Green, etc.
I am also looking for some female artists too.

well i don't know a lot of blue grass.. but there is one bluegrassy band i've been digging called Old Crow Medicine Show. If you like indie-pop at all, i can tell you several bands that utilize blue-grass elements and instruments like the inlets, sufjan stevens, boy least likely to.
so far as female artists go, there's a shit-ton i regularly listen to. Mirah, Tegan & Sara (absolutely in love with the latest album The Con), Sleater-Kinney, Feist, Eisley, Yeah Yeah Yeahs (have a female singer at least), Patterson Hood. oh and there's this single i cannot stop listening to called Let's Make Love and Listen to Death from Above by Cansei de ser Sexy, which is an all female band except for like one guy.
some other favorites that are good listens are devendra banhart, joanna newsom, the mountain goats, modest mouse, pavement *(big-time favorite of mine), archers of loaf, animal collective, arcade fire, blonde redhead, drive-by truckers, and soooooo many more i didn't feel like listing because i felt this was long enough.

Notapillow, I'm so psyched. Is your phone number the same? Where abouts are you located? I'll probably stop by before the gathering so we can figure out a good meeting location for everyone. I'm still awaiting responses on who's going. I PMed everyone, come on guys this is gonna be the best!
I've got some good rain gear I think, I hope.

One more day to go. I'm so excited. I work through the day tomorrow and then I'm off to Washington. I'll probably end up staying in california for the night, since it'll be snowing and I'll have to use the new tire chains. Gonna have to keep an eye, make sure nothing goes wrong again...

i hope you have fun man. one of these days i am going to make it to a gathering other than the ones based in az... even though i hear they are the best ones!
living in the desert i havent had much of a chance for hunting mushrooms of the active variety... it is my dream that one day i will go hunt, pick, consume, and trip from some mushies found out in the wild. the pacific northwest seems to be where its at. take some pictures!
