Well, first of all, growing in somebody else's house (your parents, for example) without them knowing is a bad idea and also unfair, because they can get in trouble.
If this is your case (reading your first post it might be) then I strongly reccomend you don't grow.
If the reason you don't have privacy except in your room is nosy flatmates, then be careful they don't blab.
If you MUST grow, ideally you would make the stuff yourself. Since you are asking about ready made kits I am supposing you can't have privacy in the kitchen either to prepare your stuff, so you want a ready sterilized kit.
If that is what you want, I recommend you stay away from pre-sterilized jars and go for spawn bags which you will fruit in the bag.
This is about as stealthy as you can get.
I can't recommend any specific kits but a trip to the shroomery sponsor forum should give you many options
All shroomery sponsor kits should work well, if not they wouldn't be shroomery sponsors.

Well, this isn't a kit but:
http://www.the-shroom-room.com/store/product.php?productid=16259&cat=262&page=1
This is from a shroomery sponsor. I have one of their 5 lb WBS bags and its top quality construction. The same company also I believe is spores101, where you can buy a spore syringe.
Simply purchase a spore syringe and one of those bags. Make a makeshift glove box to inoculate the bag in then simply wait a month or 2 and you should have mushrooms

I'm a spanking-newbie and the PF Tek For Simple Minds (and the youtube video of it) is very easy and working great for me. Get supplies locally, buy a lot of spores (in case you blow the first pass), and listen to Roadkill, RogerRabbit and the other masters.

Would a cool mist humidifier remove the need for perlite?

Perlite has a much larger surface area than most any other rock or gravel. Air is readily evaporated from perlite, raising the overall RH of the tub, which is what you want.
There are many humidity teks that work, try several and decide for yourself which is best for you.
Get a good hygrometer.
