A neat looking mold I found today
    #7503260 - 10/09/07 09:48 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

It rained a little so I went out looking for fungus and this is one of the few species I found on my rotting wood pile. I live in NE Ohio. Anyone know what it might be? When I blew on it, a tremendous brown cloud of spores were whisked into the air.

It looks similar to a slime mold pic I saw, I just wanted to know what you guys though of it.

Although it looks like it could be a coral, it is a slime mold, it's common name is Chocolate tube slime mold, it's binomial is Stemonitis splendens.
