Best album ever. It is the culmination of Roger Waters' and David Gilmour's genius. The album is one word: perfect. Start to finish. Perfect. Every time. As you would expect from PF.

Dark Side definately has the best song to song flow of all the floyd albums, yes better than the wall. Yea its probably the best, but idk Meddle for me is pure magic, it contends with DSOTM.

but you know that feeling you got, when someone first showed it to you.... made you sit down, smoke a joint (or whatever) and you listened to it? how your world was shattered and it blew your mind with things you have never thought of and filled you with intense emotion and deep thought?
well, I felt like that X 10 when i was first shown Disco Volenta by Mr. bungle. Aside from the first song on the album, the entire is a masterpeice and would probably be in my top 5 greatest albums ever.
fuck yeah! <3

Thats really interesting, i've never met someone who said that was their favorite. I really love allan's psychedelic breakfast, its a masterpiece, but the album as a whole i'm not really into that much personally. Try listening to alans psychedelic out of a high quality sound system, in a dark room, while peaking on some lucy. you'll never be the same again!

Summer of '68 is my favorite Floyd song of all time
Something about the lyrics and the music perfectly capture the essence of the fleeting days of summer, where nothing lasts forever but it certainly seems like it
The instrumentals are glorious in themselves, with the eponymous Suite tantalizing in its mystery (though I will admit it takes a bit long to really "go" anywhere) and Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is charming in its naive experimentalism
If and Fat Old Sun are possibly the best complements to an album I've ever heard, both of them contributing to the sorrow of Summer and the pioneering spirit of the two instrumentals
Don't get me wrong, I don't consider this their best album or even their most mature, but it's my favorite nontheless
