Help needed on a contam. issue.

Hi people.
I am having major problems with my jars. I will give you a little outline of the story and how this has come to happen since I don't have a digital camera/phone w/ camera so I can't show you pictures, I can only use words. Ok, for the last few months I had been thinking about starting a batch of Cubensis in Pf-jars, so I obtained all of the materials and along the way purchased 2 B+ Strain Syringes from Spores101(who I have heard to be reliable). Anyway, I put all the stuff in the jars and followed by putting in pressure cooker - 15 mins til got to pressure then 45 mins on full pressure as outlined in Pftek for simple minds website. Ok, I inoculated them - flame-sterilized the needle between every jar. I put them in the incubation chamber. This was 4 days ago now. Yesterday, I took the towel from the chamber so I could check out my jars, and some very funky looking green mould had appeared. On closer inspection, it seemed like this green shit had appeared _only_ on the inoculation points.. now a day later and the first 5 jars I put in (I put 5 in one day, the following 5 a day later) have strange green growth on 4 spots (the inoculation points) on _every_ jar. This contamination is so strange, it is as if I have injected the jars with pure mould. I could understand if the mould was in 'different' places around the jars, but to only be on the inoc. points? I have ordered another 2 syringes, B+, from spores101... but I really don't see where I have gone wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Has there been a 'bad' batch of B+ syringes lately?!? I mean, spores101 posted me the one that I had ordered then another one came a week later that I did not order. This is all very strange and it is very disheartening, all of my jars are contaminated and I have followed every step of the Tek.
Thanks in advance, Ben.

Also to add, I have seen a few other posts and what it looks like is, someone has said this before:
"This being my very first grow attempt, I'm running into the usual newbie problems. About a month ago, I inoculated 5 jars of WBS. I noticed trich growing in lines along the injection points (possibly bad syringe?). I just let the jars sit in the closet and forgot about them. I checked on them today, and they look fully colonized. All the trich locations seem to be saturated by "myc-piss". Not a single bit of green anywhere to be seen."
Now I know his ones were fine, but what this person described about lines, this is what has happened to all of my jars. All of them! Green lines on all of the inoculation points. Bad syringes I suppose - maybe the next lot I should have ordered seperate than B+? I will try and get pictures.

Well, the only possibilities are a bad syringe or improper technique. I really hope TWO syringes from there weren't duds, but anythings possible.
To help out though, might I suggest that next time you heat sterilize the needle, followed by an alcohol swab to the needle, then to the injection site. Can't be too careful. Goodluck and sorry for your disaster.
Also, I'd try another vender too. Not saying yours is bad, but changing all variable should change results for you. I never had trouble with Sporeworks, personally.

Thanks for your advice. I can't even get through to spores101 customer service because its full. I thought exactly the same, 'two bad ones'?!?!. I will try ordering one from sporeworks today thanks for the rec., and I have thought about the alco-swab thing and was going to do that next time. It is just so weird!.

My experience with Sporeworks was shipping in under a week. Everything was very professional IMO. I will say though, $60 is kind of steep. If I were you I would check out Liquid Cultures. I bought one Amazon syringe from there and haven't bought another in the 8 months I have been growing. I do plan on buying new syringes of differing strains however.
EDIT: Since you have bought 3 syringes however, let me suggest if you have an extra week, to save 2 syringes, and knock up a LC with 1 mL of your syringe. Now you have 29 mL of spore syringe, and depending on how big your LC is, up to a QUART of Liquid culture that can be used to knock up jars if you buy more syringes. For your purposes, a 1/2 pint will probably be just fine. I've never needed more than a 1/2 pint of culture.

Xeluc could you explain in a little more detail please? Also I ordered 4, not 3... how would I make a liquid culture?. Edit: note, this is the first time I've heard of a liquid culture... I don't really understand I guess I'll have to google or something, is it like on a pyrex tray or something? The only liquid culture I know is methadone - lol.

i had an entire B+ syringe from spores101 go all contam on some rye inocculations. i doubt there is something wrong with a whole bunch of syringes though. i could see like 3-4 going bad from one print maybe.
get a glovebox, and a bottle of lysol;)
cost ya 15 bucks and 10 minutes of easy work...they work well for those who cannot afford things like a flow hood.

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7455238#7455238 Some reading to get you acquainted with the LC
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5874305/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1/nt/4 This is the tek I use to clone into LC's. If you do many grows, you'll be doing this.
For RIGHT now, don't worry about the cloning part, just make the LC as it states, and inject your spore solution into it. wala, now you can fill up your syringe and knock up many many jars without wasting spore solution, and it's a lot faster to colonize.
Oh yeah, and welcome to the Shroomery

Thank you very much Xeluc - as you can see I did another lot and I am being successful. I am very interested in LC's and will definitely look at the guides, thanks so much!:)
