Why is cloning not more popular?

Just a simple question. I'm kind of new and my first tutorial (before i signed up on the board) was that very informative video that I'm pretty sure everyone has seen. (Got it off newsgroups...pretty much the only one on there) Picked up most of my original teks from this video and have since evolved after joining the board. My concern is that this video kind of made it seem like cloning was the best thing since sliced bread. I dont see a lot of it on the board, however. The guy mentioned that in order for your fruits to look and grow the same that cloning was nessicary. Is this true? How many people clone?

Cool thanx. I got a pretty good idea of how to do it just wondering why I didnt see more of it. Do people go from clone to LC at all or is it one or the other? This LC baby bottle tek looks nice simple and right up my alley so thats the direction I'm headed. Would be nice to be able to mix the two and get the best of both worlds.

lc can be done with a piece of agar wedge but I'm doing the baby bottle tek with spore solution.it's been 5 days and it's almost done.never could get a lc to do right without my handy new still air box. make one if you don't already have one, you'll thank yourself later.

Nice. Hmmm some quick searching found this answer HA. Very doable.

Very informative. I haven't seen the need for an airbox yet. I lucked out with my living situation. My apt building used to be a hotel so eventho I have a studio I have a sink room that is small and closed off from the bathroom and the main area. I bought a HEPA filter from home depot that runs in there 24/7. That room the temp stays 86F and is where I have my incubation chamber. This setup makes it very easy to work in. I always spray first to make sure its nice and sterile.
Is there any reason you're using a spore solution as opposed to agar wedge? My guess is that its much more sterile since you wont have to open the baby bottle?

I cloned a big Arcadian to lc and got loads of big franks, most 100 to 119 grams. Got little over 1 pound dry. The second flush has not come yet and it's been about 7 days. The clone was very easy, made 4 qrt. Yours looks killer, doing something right.
