Hi, I went down to wash my laundry and while i was waiting I found this in some dark woodchips near a tree. I don't have a camera yet, but I drew a picture.
It is about 3 inches tall with darker brown on the bottom and as it starts to get near the top it is a lighter sort of muddy lighter brown. I'm pretty sure it's a variation of fly agaric, but I just wanted to make sure. I don't know much about them and I'm not sure If it's safe to eat or not. I read they are poisonous, but still have hallucinagens. Still an interesting find. Thanks.

heh.
I can't stop laughing.
ok... there.
Brown would indicate Amanita pantherina, which some people eat to hallucinate, but I wouldn't mess around with. The potential for poisoning is more than I am comfortable recommending.
Also, you should read about the difference between a psychedelic experience that you would get from a psilocybian active mushroom, and a dissociative experience like you would get from a muscimol containing mushroom. You may not want to go there, but then again, you may.
-------------------- If you want to find psilocybin in species that are not yet known to be psychoactive, you should do chemical tests. That way you won't get sick and die all the time.

Do NOT eat that.
That resembles too many Amanita species to even begin to name, many of which are poisonous.

No problem. I wasn't going to eat it even if it was fly agaric.
Good thing this site exists eh?

I type "eh" all the time. It really has two pronunciations. Pretty sure he is not Canadian.

The best mushroom hunting guides use drawings. I didn't have a camera also.
