this pizza has proved problematic
    #7498911 - 10/08/07 06:43 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

so i got back from the grocery store half starved.  i didn't feel like making anything real, so i threw a red baron supreme pizza in the oven.  directions say 19-23 minutes, i checked it at 20 and the shit was already starting to burn!  bagh! i say.

but oh well, it's not too bad off.  so i cut it up into slices, excited about the prospect of eating some semi-tasty pizza while watching a show.  i'm carrying it by the tin foil i had it sitting on in the oven.. and apparently this was a bad idea.  because halfway up the stairs the tin foil rips, the pizza falls onto the stairs, half of it upside down.  oh noes!  so i try to remedy it as quickly as possible and upright each piece.  luckily my stairs are wooden, so no carpet fibers or icky stains.  i wasn't too thrilled about eating the pizza that fell onto such a common walkway, but what the fuck ever, i'm hungry.

so i finally get upstairs.. half the pizza in a messy pile.  i put on my show, start eating, and burn the ever-loving shit out of my mouth.  so now the roof of my mouth is blistered and the skin is being torn up by the crispy crust and everything about this pizza has failed me! :crankey:

It's a ninja pizza! You got owned.

Never trust the times on those frozen things. Usually they're ready 5-7 minutes early, and if you wait the correct length of time, there's thick black smoke pouring out of the oven.

I would have picked it up and eaten it too. I observe the 5 minute rule.

 it's a hard-knock life, for me.

i always eat stuff i dropped though.  unless it's like in a bathroom.  or on a particularly dirty floor.  i don't really have a timed rule, more like a content rule.  like something particularly sticky i probably wouldn't pick back up and eat, simply because every particle on the floor would still be sticking to it.

and dijorno is good and all, but red baron was on sale, buy one get one free.

Owned.
Im munching on some papa john's that was just baked. 11.99 special on 'roma meats' "spicy italian sausage, italian salami, roma tomatoes, three cheeses and italian herb seasonings."

+ some beer

= WIN.

This will only make you a more discerning, critically-minded hippie when it comes to stoner food.

Consider it a graduate-level lifestyle course distilled into a single part of a single evening.

I'd say that you got a bargain on that pizza, given the rewards.

red baron is so much better than dijorno or freschetta. Anyone who says otherwise is under government mind control

i will not stop eating the crust.  i like the crust.  and the pizza barely fills me up as is... if i didn't eat the crust, that's even more i don't get to eat.

maybe dijorno is better, so what?  i paid 5 bucks for two pizzas that really aren't half bad tasting.  hard to beat that price.

i don't think the events of last night really made me any more discerning in my choices for stoner food.  if anything, it just taught me a few little individual lessons (ones which i've already learned in the past, but apparently failed to apply).  it's always a good idea to check it a little early because ovens have different heats.  i should have done this, but i was distracted.  alas, alack, oh well.  and i already know that the pizza box itself makes for the perfect disposable plate, so i don't know why the hell i tried to carry it by flimsy tinfoil.  so far as the burnt mouth getting ripped up thing goes... well i don't think i can stop that.  i don't think i've ever eaten frozen pizza and not gotten a burnt mouth.  but whatev.  it goes away. before too long.
