i hate to bring this topic up incase it brings up many arguments and chaos but which would you prefer? Boiling due to fact that microwave is outdated or Microwave bc boiling the steam can release if not careful and can crack jars?

what are you boiling here? If it's PK tek jars, go for the boiling. If you're just doing a casing mix, you can get away with the microwave. At least, I did on my last grow

boiling is better than a microwave imho. ive never microwaved before though.. put a 100% cotton towel/rag beneath your jars and they wont crack.

Used 12 half pint PF-Tek jars (BRF + verm) and boiled/steamed them for about 50-55 minutes after reaching low boil/simmer (with washcloth on bottom of pan). Inoculated with a Sporeworks PF Classic (PES Amazonian) 10 cc syringe. I believe the spores were deceivingly clumpy, because not a single jar had more than 2 spots with successful growth.
Took a bit over a month from inoculation -> fully colonized. Only lost three jars. Seems lucky for the ungodly amount of time it took to cover the cake.
That being said. I would say never microwave pf tek jars. I have not honestly tried, but I eat quite a bit of microwave food and the center/outside are cooked drastically different. If you microwaved long enough to kill everything to the center of the cake you'd most like have wasted a lot of water on the surface layer of the cake. If you were to use 20-40% power for a long period of time I would imagine it would work much better than straight nuking.
Boiling is easily done with no specialized equipment. And seems quite effective done properly (with appropriate jar sizes/substrates, mostly half pint brfs). I haven't had a mass jar suicide yet.

microwaves remove krilian energy from what they alter (heat)
This is the basic energy given off by life.
The effects of this are unknown.
It sounds bad...

I have used the microwave.
Its a bit more difficult than boiling. You really need to juggle your jars and do successive heating pulses as it gets incredibly hot in there fast.
Personally I believe from my experience that it is just as successful as boiling if you follow some sort of system where you nuke the jar 5 minutes (maybe less/more depending on jar), let cool, nuke again, etc etc.
I had the added challenge that my "jars" were not jars and were infact tupperware containers. Substrate burning through the container was a very real possibility and did happen to me once or twice.

yea dude use a pressure cooker you'll have less mess and almost no contams. amazon.com has them for cheaper than most sites if you want a new one. Plus you can use it for pasteurizing casing jars and substrate bags its well worth the investment.
