lighting and poppies
    #7498426 - 10/08/07 04:56 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

so i know i have to suck it up and buy an hps lighting setup if i want to grow some poppies indoors with relative ease.

i plan on really only growing a few poppy plants at a time. 2-4 , the treat you get from them is obviously wonderful, but i honestly just love the look of these plants!!

what is the suggested minimum lighting setup i should be using for growing a few poppies?

edit: i guess i should leave the door open for mh lighting also. im just looking for the cheapest lighting setup i could use to grow a few of these babies!!!
ive seen some 50w hps flood lights. would this work?

2 to 4 poppy plants would only require one 4 foot dual bulb t8 shoplight with 6500k bulbs.
  cost with timer $25

for a few plants u dont need much lighting as cpw said...
if u want a bigger grow then hps would be better, but for the few plants u plan to grow flouros would be fine.
