Two of the three Austin individuals arrested for alleged possession of large amounts of marijuana pleaded not guilty to charges Friday.
Nancy Roxana Rodriguez, 20, Ryan Ernest Kelley, 19, and a third, Ryan Michael McAlister, 18, have been charged with 3rd degree drug sale following a search of their Tenth Street Southwest home and a vehicle driven by Rodriguez June 29.
According to reports, police executed a search warrant at the house and allegedly found 180 grams of marijuana, a scale, drug paraphernalia, a shot gun and shells and a “stun” gun. The complaint said police obtained the warrant due to suspicions that drugs were being sold there.
They received a call that same day from a police officer in Ohio, who said a narcotics dog had sensed drugs in a package en route to “Carolyn Cooper” at the defendants' address.
An undercover officer posing as a courier delivered the package. Rodriguez was taped signing for it before leaving with it in a Ford Explorer, police said.
Police pulled her over soon after and searched the vehicle, finding the contents still in the box. Rodriguez said she was delivering the package to a coworker from El Mariachi, and stated she was unaware of what was inside.
All three were arrested that day. Rodriguez also faces a driving after suspension charge.
She and Kelley are scheduled to appear again in court for pre-trial proceedings March 7. Their trials are set for March 17. The two are released on $100,000 bail or $25,000 with conditions.
McAlister is schedule to appear Oct. 12 for a contested omnibus hearing.

What exactly does it tell you about "that type of dealer" as opposed to the (approximately) 120 million other people in the US that own firearms?

i dunno but i knew a birdy that sent 84 grams of pot thru the mail and had no problem i question if the person just straight sent pot in something it can easily be smelled thru. if you notice also the dealer that sent cid thru the mail got busted and had a gun. its like if im gona send one thing illegal to send thru the mail might as well send many ones in a bluky box. tho one could speculate that the dog smelled the shot gun ammo or drug paraphernalia. any who all these bust are due to tip offs

FYI: to safely send weed in the mail: get a box of latex gloves, take a shower, and put on clean clothes that dont smell like smoke or bud. put gloves on and grab a bag, have a friend dump the bud in a CLEAN bag not letting any of the bud touch the outside of the bag. (vaccuum sealing is the safest of course) close the bag with your gloved hands. put a new pair of gloves on, and put that bag in another bag, and so on. do as many times as you feel necessary.

it tells you he cares enough about his own personal safety to use deadly force in defense of it.
makes sense to me. I wouldn't want to do business with the kind of dumbass that kept thousands of $$ worth of dope lying around the house with no gun. That just tells me he's naive.
I know when I was dealing, the first time I got jacked I went right out and bought the meanest-looking, shortest double-barrel shotgun I could find, and let everyone know I had it. To quote a killer, "that shit was straight out of Doom, lol." Before that, I was a dumbass 19-year-old who thought the drug business was all hippies and sunshine, and I would never need a gun...
now that I'm just a customer, I sure as hell wouldn't hate on a dealer because he was packin. just don't pull that shit on me!

thats true you have a better chance of people trying to beat you as a dealer when you have tons of dough but those people tend to be questionable

i can't remember the name of the video, but it is with the x-cop that worked the border of U.S. and Mexico.
Everything has pours, and over time it will smell to dogs. I am curious how long that would take coming in plastic bags and a box like you mentioned.

you can always cover a bag or 2 in vaseline.

> Everything has pours, and over time it will smell to dogs. I am curious how long that would take coming in plastic bags and a box like you mentioned.
However, because of the vacuum sealing, the pours are letting air in rather than smell out. Also, the size of the molecule in relation to the size of the pour is very important. If the molecule is too big to fit through the pour, then it isn't going anywhere.
The biggest risk is cross contamination; getting a little bit of the smell on the outside of the package. It might help to wash the package after a couple of wraps and then finish it off in another location that has no residues that could contaminate the packaging.
