MY yellowish knots. *pics*

well. after reading the other thread about yellow knots. i decided to take some pics of mine. i made 12 BRF 1/2 pint jars. my GF got to make 4 for fun. she made them at a different time than me. and i wasnt there to make sure everything was 100% done "right" her jars looked like she packed them down a lil tight. but i figured they'd work. and they did. i knocked hers up w/ 2 different spores, and a LC. i have 10 other jars that are 100% colonized from this LC. so i know its good. all my other jars that i made with spores are 100% done. hers started growing the yellow once the jars were about 75% colonized. now they are at like 98% almost there, jsut a small area left. but they have this yellow on them!!! so i took these pics. what do you think
(damn that was alot to type)
note this pic is the WORST spot i could find. the others are smaller
odd to me is that the yellow is where i inoculated them. i flame my needle and know its clean. i did 4 other jars that i prepared with these, no problems!

that looks like contams... sometimes the lucky lil bastard contams are smart enuf to find thier way into atleast one jar... Id throw that one out, and consider it a win with 4 other healthy jars

...4 in total look like that. the other 4 that were knocked up the same day, no contams! makes no sense and they are 100% colonized!!!!

I'd put tape on the filter hole but wouldn't throw it yet, it could be the mushroom immune system

There's no contaminant that looks like that. It's metabolites. Very common and normal. RR

I had a few jars that went like that after i noticed what looked like collection of water, thankfully i found out it was just as rr said and didnt toss them.
The "anything other than bright white" is a contam is a bit misleading.
