Some sort of Amanita possibly? I didn't disturb any I found so nothing further besides these pics. The first 4 pictures are of a gigantic one I found.

These next mushrooms I couldn't get good pics but I provide a few.
These were anywhere from 1 to 4 inches tall. Caps no bigger than a nickel. Stems are about 2mm wide and are hollow. When they're little they are a tan or brown when bigger they are gray in color, don't let the pictures deceive you. Bruising darker gray, or pale bluegreen, hard to tell. Gills are very dark brown, almost black with uneven gray fringe. Spores are black. Found in the rough at a golf course but only feet away from a fairway (I'm guessing since the fairways get more water and/or fertalizer. Thick, very green, very healthy grass. Location northern Wisconsin.

How can I create a thumbnail for my pics for future reference?

The first i think is Amanita Muscaria v Formosa but i'd wait for someone with better Amanita knowledge to confirm it. Second can't really make out too much from the pic but i'd say its an inactive Pan although if its bruising blue (not grey or green) it could be a Subb but again can't tell from the pic sorry

Cool, they grow all over in birch around here. Found some oysters today, pretty pumped about that. Gonna see if I can locate some gyms. I'd like to try these, the amanita's, but I think I should do some more research first.

Well now I have another question about these amanita. Could the fact that the spots on the cap are tan be due to weathering? It's been hot and sunny or hot and heavy rains lately. And any other opinions on these? Anyone who knows a lot about amanitas? (not to say these guys don't, I'm just unsure still, and would like to pick these for the coming weekend) I can get some base shots tommorow if needed, but I went back today (forgot camera dammit!) and picked that big one (which had to of died, as it was all soggy and pale) and the base was very bulbous.

older amanita specimens are often maggot and bacteria infested if you plan on using them i would only go for young fresh ones
also never eat them fresh. make sure they are cracker dry before consumption. alot of the ibotenic acid will convert to muscimol during the drying process.
