I find it interesting that when you torture your brain long enough with anything it adjusts to the onslaught and is able to adapt and overcome. Not unlike a fucking Marine!
An example is when your first drink or have not drank in a while ..... it hurts the next day, but then your drink some more and it hurts less....then it's like you drink and it doesn't even phase you the next day.
After awhile it takes a real champion consumption to equate a hurting brain the next day.
It's the same with caffeine, drugs of all flavors, sex, violence and so on.....

The first bullet hurts the most usually.

I had to take a break from taking pure caffeine, it does a number on my stomach, but maybe like you said it gets better as you go along.

I read that your brain sends a signal to certain receptors in your brain to let you know that you are tired. Caffeine binds to those receptors so you never get the signal that you are tired. This lasts for about a week before your brain gets wise and makes new receptors to support both caffeine and the signals that make you tired. So after a week the effects of caffeine no longer work.
If you abstain from caffeine for around two weeks your brain reverts back to old school with less receptors and you can start over.
Weird.

But the brain won't continue to upregulate adeonsine receptors indefinetly. You won't develop complete caffeine tolerance.
