You know what, those fucks down in the Bronx better not start booing A-Rod when he steps up to the plate tonight. He carried this team on his back all season long and is one of the main reasons we even made the playoffs this season. Booing him tonight isn't going to do anything good for the Yanks. Do the right thing, stand up, and give him the MVP cheer. Let the man know the fans are behind him and we'll see what happens. It's not just him thats been slacking.

I bet there's a decent amount amount of booing in his first at bat, and if he doesn't reach on the 1st one, especially if there are runners on, it's over.
I hope he takes the collar and gets it big time. The Cubs NEED him.

I will be stunned if he gets booed for two reasons. 1. The stadium will be almost exclusively full of corporate comp fans 2. Nobody could be that stupid except for Met fans. (J-E-T-S fans are that dumb too but they can't afford tickets)

Alex Rodriguez got a single. That double play took the air right out of them. It was awesome.

Well, the sinkerballer has finally gotten up in the zone and lo and behold we get shown how he generated that special ERA. Hey Liz, thanks for Damon, 3 for 3 with a 3 run tater. Life is improving in leaps and bounds. Hughes? Hughes! Be the man, junior, be the man.

What a great game it was too. I would have kept Hughes in for the seventh as well. But hey it worked out just fine anyway. One down, two to go.

That is great Of course I don't agree and the Sux better get ready for another 90 or so years of futility as the Cubs become a powerhouse.

I hope Wang can keep the ball down tonight. He does seem to pitch better at home.
Unfortunately I will not be able to watch the game live tonight because I am going out on a date, but I am going to Tivo it and hope for the best.

Have a good time on your date tonight bro.
I don't understand why Torre is pitching Wang over Moose. I guess he can always pull Wang like he did Clemens last night and put the Moose in if he doesn't look good. Then we've got Pettite to start if we make it past tonight.

Scary thought if the Yanks pull it off tonight. I'd put it at 50-50 for the series right now, considering that the Indians have CC to answer Pettite.Cleveland does not want this coming back to the Jake.
I wonder what Vegas has?
Enjoy the game

Hey, I asked you this last night on IRC but with all the problems IRC was having I dunno if you got it. Wtf was Torre doing bringing in Joba with a 5 run lead last night? If the game is close tonight are they even going to be able to bring him in? I think that it was a bad move to put him in the game last night.

So they dropped Clemens from the divisional playoffs roster. Does he still get paid 17 million???

Remember when he gave that, "Yup, them doggone Yankees came and got me up off the ranch down in Texas, and I suppose Imma come up here by yonder way and pitch for y'all" speech and the crowd roared??
I loved watching him pitch, but hopefully this will be the final year we have to listen about teams bidding for him to "un-retire" make a joke out of the game (and I'll admit I wish I could pull the crap he does and get away with it)
Meanwhile, the clock ticks in the Bronx.........

I agree. bats werent hitting balls. you cant win a game off of solo homeruns. people werent running out ground balls. it was pretty impressive- it just seemed like there was an indian at the exact spot where ground balls were hit. I had faith in Wang since we got him, and have been considering him as a top candidate for cy young. past 4 starts where he can ultimately prove himself- against beckett, halliday, cc sabathia... he was crushed.
anyway, the first world series I watched was 1996, torre's first year. it seems now that we are entering a new era. im interested in seeing the changes to come, and hope it wont be george dropping too much.
