it generaly takes the first couple freezes to stope them, though as the mild frosts begin to deepen adn persist later into the mornings, you will begin to find that more and more of them are rotting and fewer and fewer of them are pinning. you will begin to see dying or rotting pins, tinged deep blue and soon thereafter you will find none. during this period, it is common to find albino and sterrile specimens which have only orrange pigment in them and these can be quite large and robust.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

this is not relevant to PNW hunting, but here in eastern canada, libs are usually still going well through november, after many frosts.

Yup, until mid December last year. Mind you, season didn't start much until mid November.
Damn climate's all over t'place, you only have to go back five or ten years and things were very different. That's a big shift, considering it's in living memory.

Nothing so far this year... just a little colder...... damn my diminutive altitude !

Good hunting to y'all.
