rye berry spawn?

So i inocculated a 5 lb rye bag with some spores almost 3 weeks ago and i have no signs of growth.... can i use the rye for spawn now since i have some jars colonized, even though i inoced it and it didnt grow?

you can never spawn to grains. They would certainly contam. go with manure or coir. depending on the condition of the grains, you could re-jar the bag, but bird seed is cheap as hell, I can't see why you wouldn't just start over.

If the bag is definitely not contaminated you can spawn to it with some luck and a glovebox, like a grain to grain transfer in a bag

Well if your spores were viable then they didnt grow for a reason. Rye could have been to wet or to dry. could be contaminated. many reasons, but like i said, if the spores are good then something else isnt. throw that shit out and start over. dont waste your time on a guess. hope you figure it out.  :peace:
