Hello Adam! It's all got to do with Magic. You could analyze the charts and graphs to death, think you come up with the answer to understanding how when and where they will grow and what the level of potentcy should be, ...there Really is no answer. There is no science to it, just magic, plain and simple.

At least thats my opinion.

Sometimes the potency of species is determined by the fertilizers in the soil or in the feed of the particular cattle invcolved in pooping.

In Hawaii, I noticed high potency in Copelandia species picked on the North Shore of Oahu at the University of Hawaii's Livestock and Experimental Farm. Here they have grain fed cattle.

Other ctattle eat alfalfa and other grasses and do not seem to have the high potency of those picked on the North shore.

Second reason could be the particular flush of the species. Bigwood did a study years ago where he deterrmined potency levels in various flushes of Psilocybe cubensis which ranged in potency from one to ten in four separate flushes.
