planning to start a small grow in spring. problem is I'm not sure how peeps get caught. do the mj plants stink, like pure bud? i would miracle grow work? how bout jiffy pellets? and whats the lowest wattage light i could use for plants, how bout 15 watt? is 15 for 12 hours a day enough for pg&e electricity to get suspicious? also whats the lowest temperature mj can strive in if protected by frost.
i know im new to growing that stuff

until you have 3000 watts worth of lights or more I wouldnt worry about suspicious electricity usage. the average PC uses 1000 watts my 1000w HPS costs $40 a month or so. people get caught by stinky buds OR big mouths miracle grow sucks dick jiffy is ok for seedlings till they outgrow them after the first week. If the weed has nice sticky buds they can survive a frost and will produce more THC and thats not even touching on what you really need to know to grow

Peeps get caught mainly by being overly trusting with other peeps.
Jiffy pellets work great for starting the seeds, yes. Just throw a few in a humidity dome and you'll have some nice sprouts in no time. The sprouts may need a little help standing up at first but you can give them a helping hand with twistems. I like to take 2 twistems (unseparated) and just separate the end so it forms a "Y". Then you can use that to prop them up until they get nice and strong.
For lighting, think more like 400 watts. I have a 400 watt metal halide lamp which is adequate but I think the high pressure sodium ones are supposed to be better for flowering. If you're really serious about doing some growing then it'll be worth your while to invest a couple hundred in a good lamp. What's pg&e anyway? Pennsylvania Gas & Electric? I wouldn't be too concerned about anyone getting suspicious over the extra electricity used by one good lamp. After all, you could be using that lamp to grow legal plants, right? It's really just the people running the really clean large scale operations that have to worry about that.
Oh, and I'm not sure why you're worried about temperatures and frost because it sounds like you're planning an indoor grow so hmmm... Anyway, hope this helps. I should have made you find this stuff out for yourself though.

It's really not as hard as you're making it, I think, bro. Just get a good light, pot 'em up a little at a time, have the light 16/8 for a couple/few months then cut it back to 12/12 for like 8 wks., water regularly (if growing with soil), air circulation is a plus, stay away from mircale gro but guano's good for the flowering and then when you harvest, hang tehm shits upside down for a couple weeks in a dark room. That and prune some of the leaves off before and/or during the flowering.
I think that's most of all there is to it if you're not doing anything like lst/scrog or whatever.
P.S.: It gets 30 degrees inside your house? I'm sorry man. That's pretty shitty. I would definitely advise against growing them somewhere that cold. Find another spot in your place to grow. At least regular room temperature is good.

People get caught mainly because other people snitch on them. I am sure that some people are caught due to smell but I would be willing to bet that most busts are due to informants/tips.

I once went through 12 days of no power after an ice storm. My house was 30 degrees - it took two days to get back to 68 once power came back on!
But yah a single 400 HPS is negligible in terms of power consumption, and can be made to pump 1-2 oz per week done properly. Of course that would be at room temp . . . better fire you day cycle overnight lolz

Wait for outdoor!!! you live in CA, the only place better to grow indo outdo is my hood!
pm me ill give you a "tek" on mj
you can grow with a 15watt, but youll end up with shit!
indoor's not a hassle, but its a lot more work than outdoor. gotta worry about wattage, spectrum, lumens...etc...odor...etc...
find a good outdo plot!
if you really wanted to, and are worried about your electric bill, grow with a few 50watt cfl's. ppl say cfl's make your buds airy, but u just gotta get the right spectrum cfl's
ill get you the lumens chart, and explain to you what works best and when, but keep in mind, the sun is is the best grow light in the universe!!!

dude, sorry, but you dont have a clue.
one plant (1) of the right strain at the end of the flowering cycle could stink up your entire house and even wander outside into your yard. easily.
SECURITY is the MOST important part of growing bud. everything else is just a matter of hands on experience.
I suggest you have at least $500 to invest before you even think about it. probably more like a grand. supplies are very expensive.
and you neighbor, if he smokes, i defenitely WOULDNT tell him. You honestly think he wont want something in return for keeping his mouth shut? plus, they allways want more and more to keep your little secret. TELL NO ONE

more and more man! be careful! hes right one plant...say of some skunk1 is gonna blow up your house with some dank stank! outdoors again helps with this somewhat...that same plant outside seems to stink less IME, whether its the open air and breeze, or different genes, idk, but outdo yet again...
and definately $500 would be on the cheap side of indoor outdoors you buy soil, perlite, vericulite, and fertalizer(which some of these as a mycologist you prolly have lying around the house). cant stress enuff, the bigger the hole, the bigger the plant...throw some polymer crystals in the soil too if you cant water everyday!
we'll get you some nice plants grown brother, dont you worry

I second that, don't even tell your friends. There was a guy on here not very long ago that his friend ratted on him because he pissed him off, and I garantee his bud was alot better than anything you ever will grow http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7372789/an/0/page/1 Download Jorge Cervantes DVD on growing bud and you will get an idea on how it should be done. Very very good instructions

kk, nah i wasn't gonna tell him, i was just thinking that if he smelled bud he might not give a damn. if i had some amsterdam seeds and shit i bet i could grow way better bud i dont have access to that and probably won't ever wait are you guys talking about just the plant stinking bad? or smoking it?

well, hopefully it doesn't stink until the end of flowering or beggining of harvest im kinda lost, but just growing a few plants would give me the EXP it would rock if the harvest is an 1/8 th

that pic doesnt do PPP justice at allllllll! but either way it does look tasty!
my plants that survived the bulldozer i took and gave to a friend, he doesnt have a green thumb, he actually has a very brown thumb, anyway, its harvest time and he brought in some nasty lookin brown buds, but it smoke GREAT, good heady high, it was like a 80/20 sativa dominant strain, so i got like coke pupils on it and a million thoughts a racin!
if i find even one seed, ill send it your way!

the cannabible is a must have tho, buyin a book for indoor and outdoor, and this and that and the other can get expensive AND spacious, but the cannabible like hightime said covers it!
