Seriously desperate music question.

I just bought season 1 of Metalocolypse. I've seen the show before, and have fallen hard for it. It has to be one of the best 15min programs on television. Since watching I have found myself deeply compelled to hear more of this "death metal". I've listened to metal before in the 80-90s, but it was a little different, and I was to young to understand it. Now its all I want to hear. It makes me nod my head violently and for some reason its impossible to listen to unless it's turned completely up. I am overdriven by it. Where can I hear more of these throaty, deeply growled lyrics propelled by the most life threatening guitar skills. I've been listening to Cannibal Corpse and Mastadon. Cannibal Corpse is my favorite of the two by far. Not to say Mastadon doesn't have stomp ass talent, but just not heavy, hard and BRUTAL enough for my newfound taste.
So. Who's making what I'm looking for? Please help me or I will eat your children. Thank you. (Currently downloading the Dethklok DethAlbum)
-------------------- My favorites are weeping willows, which aren't really weeping at all. They're very wispy, witty and will dance in the breeze with you. Nothing like a tree that wants to dance with you. Although it doesn't like its thin limbs being pulled at all, it absolutely LOVES it when you walk through them, letting them gently slide over your face and shoulders. If you're naked, the willow considers it to be sex. It will orgasm on your mind and you will blow dream chunks into outer space. All very fun until your neighbor sees you. -The Joekenorer

I figure you already found the other metal thread, but I'll list some bands for you
Death Morbid Angel (Covenant is a good place to start) December Wolves Cryptopsy Hypocrisy Nile Behemoth Mithras Deicide Aborted Amon Amarth Anaal Nathrakh Anata Arch Enemy (older Arch Enemy is my favourite) Arsis At The Gates Entombed Ulcerate Sinate Decapitated Strapping Young Lad (hardly death metal, but quite heavy and funny) Zimmers Hole Exhumed Gojira Gorelord Gorerotted Gorguts (ha, yes the 3 gores) Hate Eternal Immolation Incantation Kataklysm Krisiun Malevolent Creation Malevolence Napalm Death (their last album, Smear Campaign is a good mix of grindcore and death metal) Obituary Pungent Stench Suffocation Vader Zyklon
And if you're looking for something fast, check out these

try napalm death. originators of the grindcore sound.
i know you're not looking for grindcore in particular, but it's good to know you've heard something before.

Napalm Death has a few death metal styled albums as well, so it's a good suggestion. Their newer stuff has melded grind and death in one nice package

While I'm not an authority on all the subgenres of metal, I have to recommend Children of Bodom as well.
I think they are death metal.
Anyway, they fuckin rock. Alexi Laiho is unreal.
