Leftovers in my grinder

I was looking at my grinder with a flashlight just now, and I noticed a ton of little specks of weed, each about the size of a grain of sand. There's also some weed smashed up against the wall of the grinder. What's the best way to scrape this out? Could I just let the grinder soak in a pot of water until it all came off, then somehow filter out the weed from the water?

just scrape as much of it out with a razor/exacto blade or whatever you use to scrape your bowl with - if you are a bowl scraper that is, and it sounds like you are.
If you want it completely clean just let it soak in hot water for a spell... Filtering out what is left in the water is really not worth the work. or if you want it really really clean let it sit in rubbing alcohol overnight - just make sure its completely dry when you go to use it again of course. Same thing can be done with pipes - fuck that expensive pipe cleaning shit you buy at the smoke shop.

Yeah I tried scraping it, but it's not coming off easily. So even if I soak it in water, I can still smoke it?

Its not going to be easy; you gotta have something with an edge on it. However, there probably isn't enough in there to harvest if you're having a hard time. Ever think about getting a 2 or 3 stage grinder?
You can still smoke whats left if you really want to go through all the work of filtering it out of the water, but I really don't see it being worth it, unless its one of those fucking colossal grinders.

Hey!! Don't soak in WATER! What are you guys thinking?
If you want to clean your grinder and also get a smokeable substance, let it soak in alcohol! Put the individual pieces of your grinder in a half pint jar of high proof isopropyl alcohol (look for 91%, if all you can find is 70% go to the liquor store and get a cheap bottle of everclear) and agitate it around some. Let all that alcohol evaporate over time, and what you've got is some low grade hash, and probably not much of it. It will be a good smoke though.
I have had good results from putting the alcohol before evaporation into the microwave for a few seconds to completely dissolve and decarboxylize the THC.
If you have a kief catcher on your grinder, it's really easy to turn that into hash.

ah the fine art of scraping. got me through the week before last so i didnt just go straight cold turkey. i usually use a hair cutting scissors. they're thin and with the lil incline on the edge its perfect for scraping.
or do as rs153 suggested. although personally waiting around for evaporation is too time consuming. scrape away!
