Hi im tim and i was wondering if dog poo could be added to a mix of brf and other grains i already did but i dont thing the mycelium is colonizing it its been 9 days since i inoculated the jar pf style. could it be the acidity? my dog is vegetarian btw i didnt think there would be that much acidity that the shrooms cant colonize it. I do know that they usually tend to thrive on rabbit cow and horse dung but i simply wanted to see if this would work ill try to give you a pic later once i get some batteries.

good luck:thumbup:

p.s. i dont think it will work. Their likely isn't not nutrients in the poo to do any good.

its not about what your dog eats, its about your dogs digestive system and how it digests food. just because you feed your dog only vegetarian food does not make him a vegetarian, nor his species. hes still a carnivore, same as you. well technically omnivores, but you get the point. carnivores and omnivores are not herbivores, or even more specifically, ungulates. there is something special about their digestive system that renders the plant cellulose usable by the enzymes in mushroom mycelium responsible for digesting food.

Dogs have extreamly strong acid in the gut to digest semi-rotten meat and I imagine that would affect what comes out the other end.

Reason:
We've been closing these dog poop threads for years, but somehow every few months, another one pops up.
