The games were fucked up enough for me - Haven't seen the movie yet, but if it follows the story of the game at all.... I'm still indifferent.

Shrooms are always good but this whole movie more distinctly reminded me of a salvia trip in many ways.

I think the first half is better than the 2nd, but I LOVE the soundtrack.
Still a pretty good video game adaptation I think, one of the better one's.

Those games were so fucking scary. I thought it was one of the better game to movie adaptations. I love that mellow, simplistic soundtrack for both the game and the movie.

first 2 games were where its at... movie just took a bunch of random scenes from the games and put them together.. that games actully had a much better plot. which is pretty pathetic.. rent the first 2 games. some of the best shit ive ever played. fuck the movie

The movie completely ass raped the story and atmosphere of the games. Needless to say, I didn't like it.
I can't believe Roger Avary wrote that shit. I loved his work previous to silent hill. Maybe Wolfenstein will offer him redemption. Please just don't pull some bullshit and make the movie about genetic engineering and not hell and the occult like with DOOM.

The movie was ok...the games were better!
Does anyone else get that creepy feeling up your spine of salvia when they watch this movie (or play the games)?
That scene where she's in the bathroom and the walls all start to peel away followed closely by all hell breaking loose...gives me the chills just thinking about it!

You think so? I thought the atmosphere was right but do you really think they could've done a good movie on the story? Especially the 1st one...most people still find a hard time finding out what that one's about.
The only Silent Hill game that would make a really good movie is the 2nd because its a really cinematic game. I think the movie did good until they started explaining things lol
But yeah the dialogue sucked

I enjoyed the movie, mainly for the way it brought the Silent Hill atmosphere and surroundings to the big screen. Especially liked the transition scenes where everything turns to rust. As far as video game adaptations go, I think it's one of the better ones (plot was a little lacking, yes). Most adaptations seem to completely rape the original game (DOOM being a good example). But, I prefer the games. When you have to do the surviving yourself, it adds an extra layer of tenseness that you can't replicate in a movie. It's great fun testing your wits by playing the games at nighttime on surround sound or headphones.
