Libs back in Yorkshire

After finding the few odds and sods and some beautiful Wax Caps I have finally found Libs growing like pins on a green moorland pin cushion. I have a feeling they came up last night and these are the start of lots more to come. Went looking this morning in another area and found nothing but this afternoon took the dog over the moors and bingo there they are.

Will be back there tomorrow afternoon so will take the camera with me and hopefully they will be more and bigger. I found them to the left of a path, on the right there where LBM but no libs. Just shows you have to be careful when you start picking in an area.

Not a problem with the pictures. Point to note on the area, it is very open with moorland sedge. The path to it is sandy but the area has moorland rushes so it very damp in areas but the sand must help in the draining? I think the last few nights being cold has made them bud but this week looks like its getting warm again.

I went to the moors for my first expedition of the year yesterday (sunday) and did ok. There weren't too many of the little felas about... i had to search hard for these. At least they're starting to show now.... i just hope the season is late this year, and there are plenty more to come.
My mate got some habitat pics aswell, so ill post them asap.

Went out to my second site today and once again there was a few popping up but not to many and like my first site they seem to have been up for a day or two. Back to the first site tonight and a few small libs to be found. Seems that they started to fruit in the cold snap but the weather started to get warm so they stopped.

Tried to take some pictures today of the site but they turned out more fuzzy than a 150 mushroom trip. Had a shock today as I looked in the field next to my house...libs!
700 hundred NICE!
