i smoked some salvia today. the immediate afterglow [~1 hour from smoking] isn't that great, but the lasting afterglow [1-3 days] is DEFINITELY worth the smoke for me. I feel more at peace, more relaxed and happy, and my inner voice can be quieted. Salvia gets my

but I remember being very uncomfortably "wieghed" down, like in concrete, body temp going up and heart pounding. Now is this common to every salvia experience, or is it because I almost broke through but didn't? Anyone help?
That varies with different individuals. I get varying types of gravity responses from weighing down to twisting to feeling light. I usually increase in temp but rarely as much as a lot of people. My heart rate increases a little in anticipation but nothing like with DMT or even coke which only increases it half of what smoked dmt does.
The mental realms far outweigh the physical ones with this drug. To the point that they are irrelevant on strong breakthrough doses.

Now that I miss! I had the greatest 3 day afterglow the first couple of times I broke through hard on salvia. I don't get those anymore. Awesome feeling!

Maybe it's a tolerance issue sometimes when I've smoked too much the afterglow isn't nearly as pleasent or long lasting but it's usually still there to some degree. But yeah, the afterglow from salvia is just amazing and the cost of admission is really worth it for me. I just love the peaceful/tranquil mindset it gives me

if you go in yearning the yearning becomes compounded breaking through is a weird concept and forget spiritual context go in as close to a relaxed mental middle and as emotionally blank as can be. compounding of signals and motifs will occur, taking pieces of your personal mental activity as source material. keep it as simple as possible before the salvia hits and then just let go and keep on letting go.
you can smoke the plain leaf but you have to work that part pretty vigorously, extract is much easier and quicker to smoke.

Oh yeah. I know that's the deal. I smoke too much of it to get an afterglow. I'm probably living in more of one than I can truly appreciate from this point and time of perception.
I smoke it every night sometimes. I'm smoking a mixed bowl of salvia and weed right now along with copious amount of red wine.
I'm feeling fine...
I should probably go to bed.

I do salvia because it calls to me.
This question is really odd. Why do anything? The only answer I can think of is because I want to. Salvia is a confusing, magical plant, and being curious that's very appealing.

Pandora said: So, not to thread jack, but I have a salvia plant growing...do I harvest the leaves similar to MJ? I haven't tried it yet, but I was under the impression I had to do some kind of extraction - now it sounds like it is just dried and smoked? Sorry for the dumb questions - just new to the subject! Thanks - back to original post!
I missed this question last night somehow. Maybe because I was plastered.
Plain leaf satisfies some people. IMO the best place to learn what you need to know about salvia can be found here.
