Not sure if I should post that MP3 in here, but whatever. I found it on a google search.
It's a band called Om, featuring the rhythm section of the now defunct band Sleep (of Dopesmoker fame).
This has probally got to be one of the most psychedelic songs I've heard that's been made in the last 35 years. Just drum, bass and vocals. Think early Floyd or something.
Sounds old as well, probally all recorded with vintage amps, microphones, tube compressors and tape machines.
This came out last year. Let me know what you guys think.

I saw these guys live at last years wired music fest. When all I saw were drums and a bass guitar on stage, I was like, where the fuck is the guitar player? But as soon as they started playing, it was all good. Very loud. I picked up both their albums and I believe their third is on its way. Recommended.
Mike Pike, the other member of Sleep, has a good band too, High on Fire. He got that doom metal down. Favorite band at the moment.

yeah man, "high on fire - surrounded by thieves" is quite good. totally agree.
neither project is dopesmoker at all, something i wish was extended to more like 2 hours . it is interesting tho to see the paths that a group like that take when they move on seperate ways.
i'd like to hear more psychedelic droney shit like "at giza" but hardly know where to find it. im looking for something more like this particular work, but i find myself kinda stuck with groups like sunn o))) since i can't find anything beyond that. i'd like to hear the same concept, long repetitive notes and melodic feedback but less evil and more psychedelic.
ambient music isn't quite the angle im looking for, either. fantastic stuff, but i wanna hear some pop-esque drone. like jesu, but slower and with less drums.

Look into a Japanese band, Boris. Album called Absolutego. and Boris at Last - Feedbacker
Pure heavy riffing-droning bomblast.

yeah, im actually going to see boris live later this month. i'm not heavily familiar with their work with the exception of the "pink" album, which i have played right out of it's groove.
