I'm soooo new to having a REAL phone and a real carrier (I'm loving it) except I have a question on a few things.
A) I'm signing up for an online account and they're asking for a promotion code (for some free offers)... does anyone have any handy I might find useful? Google sucked when it came to that
B) It came with a cord which I have no idea how to use. It looks like the charger connection on one end, and I'm guessing USB on the other end? If so that'd be great. I can upload my own ringtones, wallpapers, apps, etc.
Any help/ tips are greatly appreciated. It feel so good to finally have a great phone with a solid network, I wanna get the most out of it.
I got the $69.00/mo plan with free texts (pics, vids, etc..) Unlimited weekends/nights and 450 anytime minutes, which perfectly matches my lifestyle. TIA for the responses. My mood says medicated and it ain't lying .

To answer B, if it does plug up to your comp then you can do all that. But check your users manuel to see exactly what it can do. You can even put your own music on it if you get a memory card.

Wow...that's pretty sick. I'm so glad I switched to a real carrier. The cord looks like this:

Oh wtf is that, i've never seen one of those before. I was refering to a cord that plugs into your phone and into your comp. I think that might plug into your phone, maybe a wireless charger???

How would that be surprising?

I come from a poor family. My first phone was a prepaid big ass Nokia. my second was a prepaid Motorola, then Virgin Mobil, then Boost Mobile. I'm not used to REAL services like this, and my dept. doesn't really do phones... Just computers. I meandered over to our store's newly installed wireless center and had my phone set up during my lunch break. Their service is great. I suppose I could just ask around tomorrow but the response time is usually so fast here I figured I might get some faster feedback.

The sticker on it says LG Multilink Adapter. It came with a charger too thought so I don't think I need this to charge my phone, it's gotta be for something else.
I'm wondering, could I maybe plug a mini SD card in my phone (mine takes that kind) then just attach the phone to a small to USB??? It has a port to connect to my phone the on the other side it's printed, "TTY/[with pic of headphone jack symbol]" that looks like a tiny headphone jack, and opposite from that it reads, "Power/Data".

I suggest getting yourself a 1 - 4gig microSD card + micro sd adapter + usb card reader. It'll come in handy for storing videos, music, pics etc.

Thats the one I bought for both myself and one of my brothers. It's fairly cheap and works very well. Check out the sellers other items. They have 2 gig and 4 gig ones as well. Just make sure it comes with the adapter and usb card reader.
I have a LG VX8300. It has an mp3 player on it etc. My brothers vx8600 has an mp3 player too so I'm sure your vx8700 has one as well. All you do is pop the card in the phone while it's powered off. Power the phone on and it'll configure the folders on your card. Set your phone to save everything to the card. Then you can pop it out, stick it in the adapter, into the card reader, and into your pc. From there you can upload your mp3's to the card (in the my_music folder), pictures for backgrounds (in the my_pix folder), etc... and pop it back into the phone. Obviously you can also transfer pictures and videos from your card to your pc as well. It's pretty cool.

The extended batteries are pretty nice as well. I got one for my vx8300 and am very happy with it. I get a hell of a lot more talk and standby time. Plus it comes in handy if you're going camping or somewhere you cannot charge your phone. You can charge up both batteries beforehand.

Technology CDMA Frequency 1.9 GHz CDMA PCS, 800 MHz CDMA (Digital Dual-Band)
that's not a REAL mobile
btw, your phone looks very similar to the nokia n76, besides the fact that the nokia has metallic trim curves and a bigger lcd screen externally, the product design is very similar...
