Hey all, So here's the deal... I have 3 Pf-Cakes in the FC, 2 of which have between 7-15 pins/shrooms growing on them a piece... but the other cake is doing absolutely nothing. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the contam i "thought" i had?... So i sprayed them all but that one in particular alot almost point blank with a 10:1 h2o2 mix. That cake... has no pins whatsoever on it, but it still has nice rhizo growth, just no pins, the other 2 cakes have up to 1 inch long pins/shrooms growing at the moment. I'm wondering what i can do? Grate it up and case it with 100%verm or something?... any advice would be great. thanks.

Well, patience reveals all my friend, and sometimes genetics are a factor, after all, those three cakes are all unique genetically, and thus capable of doing nothing, or of doing amazing.
Contamination is not subtle, so wait it out, as soon as you see any color of any kind, get rid of it asap. Until then chill, take your time and learn the art eventually you will be able to recognize contam right off, but don't rush it.
Trust me, you will see your share, and will battle it enough to know what to look for.
Many a contamed cake produced fruits before color, read GREEN!!!
You will see green, maybe dark blue, sometimes yellow and red. Healthy myc is solid Olympic white my friend, nothing else.
Hope this helps...search the message board posts for Captain Cubensis if you want some simple guides.
Look into cloning, G2G, agar, etc...

thanks for the reply Yea, i've made a really thick LC but that was just a test to see if i could make one, I'm going to clone my biggest first flush fruit using the "stab-with-a-needle-into-lc" tek, lol... And going to make a few more spore prints, so everything is secure, so i dont loose my strain or anythin Oh...and good news, what a co-incidence, i've looked at these cakes fruiting now for like a week, and the other cake doing nothing. Looked tonight (just 4 hours after thoroughly looking and seeing nothing whatsoever) and i have two pins forming, so there's hope yet. Thanks again for the response. Wish me luck with my flush and drying!

Well, you tried misting 2 of the cakes but not that one, correct? And the two cakes you misted are now fruiting, but the one you didn't mist isn't fruiting?
Perhaps you should be misting the cake that isn't fruiting Just make sure not to mist directly once primordia have started to develop or they may abort. Do not most the other two cakes now that they have pins also

Personally if I thought there might be even the slightest chance of a contam I would put it in it's own little fc.
It does seem likely when you see it's moving into fruiting mode much slower than the others. Were they birthed on the same day? How many days ago?
