magic mushroom pnw guide in seattle?

hello all,
I am ready to go out again and try some more picking. I got paid and I need to get a few things before I go. First off, I have heard suggestions to get the "magic mushrooms of the pacific northwest" guide. IS this worth getting? I would really like to just go and buy it in a store and If I do (esp. so I can preview it), and wondering does anyone know where in seattle I may buy it?
Also, I need to get another general manual, one big fat manual for everything in america hopefully. What would someone suggest as the best general mushroom manual ? audobon?
Lastly, it's fine I can find this on my own, but perhaps someone knows some good deals. I need to get a digital camera. Something less than 50 dollars hopefully. I don't want something for professional photography just to take some standard pictures. I won't be needing 8 megapixels.
Thanks for help in advance.

Call Homestead books... I believe they are in Ballard. I'm pretty sure that they have it.
If they don't have it... contact me and I can get a copy of it from John for you.

I called and they said I would have to pay by credit card or money order. They apparently don't do retail. I'm going to think about the best plan to go on.
The book isn't that expensive though, and they said that I would only pay 2 dollars extra because I'm local. But still, I wanted to see If it's worth buying. It has 35 or so mushrooms if I remember correctly. I'm sure it would be helpful, but I don't have a credit card and I don't get that much money, so If I can save, every penny counts.
Can anyone who has the book describe what it's like?

I love john, don't get me wrong... I'd always reccommend buying his book... but- the quintessential book on magic mushroom hunting is Paul Stamets' Psilocybin mushrooms of the world. Great Book! Full color pics and all the info you'll ever need. It certainly was for me! AS for general mushroom manual: the Biggest, Baddest book on the subject of funghi is Mushrooms Demystified by David Aurora. Almost any big book store will have it, and it is an unbelievably volumnous testice on the subject. As for cameras... try looking at Overstock.com. They have good colseout deals... 50$ might be tough though.
You want at least 3 megapixels and some OPTICAL zoom capabilities... DIGITAL zoom is No Good... Stay away from it unless you have a 7 Mp camera or better.
hope that helps... See you out there.

I think I'm just going to get a book or two and put the digital camera on hold for now. I went to the store and everything was around $80++. I guess this gives me the opportunity to hone up on my drawing skills.

This thread is over three and a half years old. Check the dates on threads before posting and try not to dig up the dead without good reason. Thanks.
