Reading this forum makes me sad

Has the shroomery gone the way of the rest of society? Are too many of the shroomery's members just plain stupid?
Because so many posts in here show no intelligence whatsoever.
Oh well...there is a light in the dark...

It's not all bad. Just like everything else you have to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Or maybe people don't enjoy being philosophical and friendly all the time so they come online to shoot the shit and share some crude humor. I wish people would get off their high horse, and stop whining about the Shroomery AND society. I don't see you doing shit to change it anyway.

You can't really see much when it's an anonymous forum...
But go ahead! Believe what you will. It only shows which side of the line you are on.

It's a true melting pot... It has the advantages and disadvantages that come along with it. For every awesome contributor, there are a few dummys.
All in all, I still think the site provides valuable information and most likely saved some lives.

Yet more evidence of stupidity...how you can be specific in an unspecific anonymous forum is beyond me.

Seeing as how you are so smart I just had a quick physics question I was working on. Say you have a quantum mechanical system with a hamiltonian and a perturbing hamiltonian. Now, thankfully we know the eigenfunctions of the unperturbed hamiltonian, and so of course we can represent the wavefunction as a linear combination of these eigenfunctions. However we need to find the eigenvectors An, to multiply the eigenfunctions by to get the overal wavefunction psi. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Very good, you just proved I do not know quantum physics (which I would have told you). Are we to judge everyones intelligence with what they know of specifics? The devil is in the details, I think the saying goes.
Anyone can memorize specifics...true intelligence is something quite different.

Ah,so math is memorizing specifics. However, grammar, well that is something altogether different? I think doing complex math and physics takes quite a bit more intelligence then writing interesting (based off your subjective interpretation) posts on a message board.

No, that's not what I said. Read it again, Sherlock.
Want science? Biology is an area I'm a little better acquainted with. So why don't you explain the role of FasL in apoptosis?
(note that this is just an example...anyone with a net connection should be able to give me some answer)

So I don't see what your point is then. Your entire point of this whole thread was for what reason? I mean who the fuck are you, let me read some of your posts lets see what jewels you have come up with. I bet very little. And biology , no offense or anything. I mean not that I want to make fun of the easy sciences, oops, did i say that. Check out biophysics my underachiever maybe you'll be of some use yet.

It was an assumption, most people bitch and moan but don't do anything about it, including most here on the Shroomery. If you are doing something (which you're going to say you are regardless if it's true just to win an internet argument) then congratulations, but I doubt you are. People who complain about shit are the ones who don't do shit about it. Hence the complaining.

I don't think things like this forum or OTD are bad. It allows social misfits to congregate together and scare scatporn and homoerotic imagery.
It makes them happy.

The Shroomery has become big, and when things get big, they lose their separate identity and become like the mediocre mainstream.
It doesn't matter who was a hippie in 1969.. its all about who was a hippie in 1959. They were the ones that made the psychedelic revolution happen, most in the late 60 just hitched along for the ride.
WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE SHROOMERY A BETTER PLACE?
Big question right? For some it means sharing of their own experiences and experiments, for some it means stop posting here

I just think this site is full of people who r to serious, and becauz everything has know body language clues, peop;le get angry at what some would see as a obvious joke, it gets confusing for some. Oh and i think thsi site is great, sure theres idiots, but theres a better percent idiot to decently inteligent people, so the ratio at least is better than most places.
