Since my body is composed of elements derived from this world, I say that I came out of this world. "Into" implies that I used to be somewhere else.

I am sure the first choice would appeal to theists, yeah a spirit that comes into this world.

As for me, I came out of this world and again i would go back into this world.

I always felt like a traveller here, a stranger, like a tourist from outer space who has to make the best out of his stay.
And I learned to love the place, not the people and I can (and maybe want) not see how this place could make so many of the people here so...ugly.

just a bit more seriously..(but not much)
i have a hard time choosing one because i'm not sure about the relationship between "I" and "The World"...

some reasons why:

- not sure if, or where, "i" end and "this world" begins

- not sufficiently convinced of what "I", or this world, entirely consist of

- don't know that "this world" and "i" aren't ultimately unified

"I" seem to be some sort of node, function, point, cluster, or interactive, communicative thingamajig that appears to exist as part of complex matrix of events.

Where does "this world" fit in?

This World?
That World?
The World?

What do we mean when we say "the/this world"?
This planet?
This universe?
All events?
All events that are experienced / perceived by consciousness?

Do we include "I" as part of this world?...this world as part of "I"?
Do we think "I" is only, ever and totally just a temporary guest of "This world"?
Do we have reasons to suspect otherwise?

Why separate "I" and "the world"?
Why separate life and death?
Could these experience be stages of an unfolding and recurring process?
Is there any question I won't ask?

I **think** that I can safely say that:
1) I am
2) I am on this world
3) I am in this world
4) I am of this world
5) I am a part of this world
6) my physical parts are made of the same materials as this world

Some people have told me that I am out of this world, but that prolly~ don't count....  :ohwell:

indeed, i assume i operate my pituitary gland, but i know nothing about how that works consciously. neither do i know how to operate the rising and setting sun, but it too is crucial to my human experience. its certainly a possibility that my sub conscious mind is running the whole of creation without my know how. and truly there is no separation between my body and creation, as beams of light are reflecting all into my eyes. are those beams of light a part of me as much as my skin is part of me? all i know is that i am this human experience, but does that make this experience (and all that goes along with it) me?

i think this is what maya is. maya meaning that there is no way to know what is illusion and what is real. so long as we know there is no way to know, its hard to take life to seriously when seriousness would get in the way of fully living.
