riddle me this
    #7476979 - 10/02/07 10:38 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I decided to test out a couple different types of mycobags (millet an rye) to see which one would do better...and one week in - eez no mycelium BUT there is a lot of blueing going on in the bag (like the kernels themselves have all started becomming colored with a blueish sort of tint)

ssooo...what does this mean

Sounds to me like green mold, It can look bluish..a picture would help alot more. Theres no white in the bag at all?

without pictures it's impossible to tell but the most likely contaminate sounds like a penicillium strain...

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.
