Can you eat shrooms which have mycelium growing on them?
    #7476228 - 10/02/07 02:22 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Hi!

Some of my shroom shave mycelium growing on the bottom third of the stem. Are they still edible? Should I pick it off? ANd why are they doing this? I heard it's something to do with low humidity? My humidity gauge shows 95% though.

Yes u can eat shrooms that have mycelium growing on them. I thought it was high humidity that caused mycelium to start growing into the air ??

Mushrooms ARE mycelium. Sometimes there's different types. It has nothing to do with humidity. They're fine.
