Monotub - when should I case this

Is this thing looking healthy? It is on day 8 of colonization, and I was wondering how long after the surface is colonized shud I wait to case? Does it look healthy?
And also wanted to ask anyone who might knew, I had a few WBS that were visible on the top of the coir, and in those spots there was fluffy myc that popped up, whats up with that?
Comments plz love to hear em

Once middle is fully colonized you can case or wait a day or two then case. If you added a frosting layer you should wait a few more days after the top has fully colonised so the middle can catch up.
The white fluffy mycellium is fine it just tried to grow up away from the substrate.

yo man, wait until that is 100% white, then give it four or five more days.
you look a good 10 days away from that being fully colonized and ready to case, this is just a wild guess.
that's coir? that myc doesn't look very hearty, it's thin, rhizo, but thin, reminds me of pan cyan myc.

You can fan it, getting rid of CO2 and getting some more fresh air which would speed colonization a little bit.

pazzy this is VERY incorrect, colonizing mycelium requires high co2 levels, the absence of co2 and the introduction of o2 is a pinning trigger, this monotub IS NOT ready for fruiting to be started.
if anything, you should lay wax paper on top of the substrate, to trap co2 in, THEN it will speed up.
o2 will slow it to a stop, invite contam, and induce pinning.

Damnit! I knew that sounded really strange, but I dont consider myself an expert and I did it anyway. I hope I didnt fuck everything up by doing that. It currently has a piece of tin foil over it with holes poked through out. Is it going to mess it up? This is my first Mtub so Im still figuring things out.

Sorry I have always fanned my tubs when they are that close to finishing. I was under the impression that it got fresh air to the very bottom center and center which always lags behind on my larger casings.
I guess I wont be doing that anymore. Once again sorry especially if I fucked anything up.

You want tons of fresh air during fruiting, not colonization. so, right tactic, wrong time.

Lol pazzy dont worry about it, its funny cuz I saw a post by RR i think that was talking about fanning them during colonization, I forgot where it was at or Id show it to you. It seems to be doing just fine regardless
PS why do they say to turn your jars upside down/put micropore tape on them if they arent supposed to get FA?

Jars need gas exchange, not FAE. Too much CO2 in a jar can cause it to stall. That's why the holes are covered with micropore tape so it can breathe.
