Rodents don't carry rabies?
Just Great... all that work for nothing. My experiment is down the tubes. What am I going to do with all these apparently harmless rats?
Where could I easily score about 100 bats...? Or better yet... Hantaviruses... that would work even better!

Yeah, except for really big rodents like beavers and groundhogs, rodents don't usually get rabies. They usually wouldn't survive the bite from a larger rabid animal.

Rats still carry plague out west though, so good luck with that.

Here are a species I found over the weekend. These are Mycena crocata.

What a pristine specimen!

These were the highlight of an otherwise uneventful mush hunt in a place that is usually abundant.

Bats are classed as flying rodents, their small and quite a common known cause for rabies.

hey i have found those mycena crocata, hum , this make think in more way to paint with mushrooms , also that red drops can make good color
hydnellum, and many more mushrooms can be use it remind me this pictures the stain i get

i wonder a good work of art could be made with the inks of coprinus, the latex of the lactarius, the drops of the hydnellum , the drops of stains of mycena, the pisolithos tintorius, pycnopurus sanguineus, phaeolus schweinitzi, can be use to dye , cotton or shirts, you just have to put then in a pot with a bit of water and same quantity of mushrooms and clothes and let it slow boil for 60 minutes and stir not let to boil complete hot,,and that it a shirt dye with mushrooms i will do this some day also to make a good paint , did i mention you can use the spores also imagine all the colors you can get , hehehe , well here i small sample with lactarius so far

lactarius can be used to do many things

Ehh, sorry. Bats are not rodents. And bats do carry rabies, and most human cases in the US come from bat bites. But again, bats are not rodents, look that shit up.

And, nice mycenas too, very cool pics.
