I have a chamber made with stainless steel (four shelves) to house 24 dish wash tubs. Overall dimensions (note walls are 4 mil plastic) are 48" x 36" x 65"

I have a ol vicks cool mist impeller and a ultrasonic (currently testing the ultra set on the lowest setting) in the chamber of doom.

I'm running them on/off with differant times combos and making notes of all the results lab style to find what holds the humidity the best...

I have 3 25watt lamp/clamps for lighting that seems to be sufficient I think.

But to my question...

I have cut a 2 1/2" circle in the bottom for possible drainage if needed, with a tub. Then I have a 1" hole in the side to run the humidifer cords out. I also have made a scalpel cut all the way down the center of the front (then out towards the edge of course) and made two doors that are held together via velcro that is attatched to the metal shelves. These doors produce a semi-loose seam, varying but I'd say an average of a 1/4". Not to mention the ceiling has some "cracks" in the seam there too.

I'm wondering if this is adequate air exchange, or do measures need to be taken to rig up a small fan or two for timed FAE? I know Stamets says 1-3 FAE a day...

My humidifers are not plumbed in, they are sitting on the second shelf, which I see no problem with.

ok so turns out through my experiament that I'll be using the humidifiers (ultra on highest setting) 2 on/20 off, 90%+ held with ease. Seems to work, that is unless I need more FAE.

Can I just 'fan' out the chamber a few times a day maybe?

Fanning your chamber can be sufficient but kind of defeats the purpose of an automated fruiting chamber. You can put a few additional 4" holes in the chamber to aid in FAE. I like to keep a fan running in the room to ensure that the air is moving about. However, this fan should not be pointed directly at your chamber as this will wreak havoc on your RH.

Yeah I made a fully auto-mated incubator fridge/repti heat style, fans ect ect...

made a 24x12 flowhood...bought a 41 quart sterilizer, among the most spendy items...

Soooo yeah didn't have enough for a humidistat, soon though, I will finish off the full-automation, until then I can baby sit it, I have to be home alot anyways, just got a 3 week old pup that I gets me up at 5 in the morning.

More like 3 to 5 air exchanges per hour is what you want. Slits and windows are the way to get your air exchange. The more the better, so keep cutting openings until your humidity system can barely keep up. This gives good humidity with maximum air exchange.

Alright sounds good, I figured I wasn't getting enough FAE for this reason, that I could maintain humidity levels so easy...I've been busy being a dad with my pup but when I get free time (and can hunt down a GOOD fucking timer) I'm thinking I'll make more vents and run 5 on 20 off perhaps.

ps my book says during fruiting stages, 1-3, but I'm sure their speaking of Professional air duct/hepa systems ect. REAL LABS. lol.

I'll make some cuts later.

thanks again guys.
