So today I went outside to have a smoke at my new job on lunch and the last thing I expected to see was a nice patch of shrooms under a tree just sitting there screaming pick me so of course I did.
The setting I found them in

Wish I could attempt to make a spore print right now, but got more shit to get done at work. Ill try to answer any questions about them to help aid in ID'ing them hopefully I can eat the beauties sooon

The spores will be purple, brown, black or something in between.
They are an Agaricus species, relative to the white button mushrooms and the portobello you can buy in grocery stores.
Would you describe the mushrooms scent as somewhat chemical, a little bit sweet, or almondy, or just plain mushroomy?
If you scratch the stem base, does it dicolour yellow, reddish/orange, or just darker off-white?
No species of Agaricus bruise blue.
What city are you in? I'm from SoCal.

Ahh, I am from SD.
Hmm, well the yellow staining suggests a potentially poisonous species, yet, the sweet mushroomy smell suggests an edible species.
Either way, it is not an active species. So don't eat it.
