Well, it does contain ergoloid mesylates which are like LSD or LSA but I don't know which ones. Could be the good ones(isoergine, Lsa, lysergol, lysergic acid N-1-hydroxyethylamide,ergonovine, ergocornine, alpha-ergokryptine) or it could the the bad ergoloids(ergotamine, agroclavine, ergocristine, festuclavine penniclavine, elymoclavine, methylergometrine, ergotoxine, or ergovaline, ergovalinine).
It is said that the clavines are responsible for convulsive ergotism.
It does make you have strange mental affects. When I took it it felt like I was sleepy that is due not to the Lsa but another chemical in the grass called diacetone. I felt like my body was moving faster and more fluid. Mild CEV. Then sleep. Now I am awake there's a very distinct clarity of mind.
Effects: Painful Backache & headache, stomach cramps(yet no nausea or emesis), this stomach ache preceded the metal effects, 2 toned voice, paranoia, nervousness, excitement, visual distortions, vasoconstriction.
Note: The backache is due to alkaloids which having a depressant action on the spinal cord. Likely effecting pyschomotor function.
A synonym for Stipa robusta is Achnatherum robustum. Acremonium coenophialum contains ergine as well as ergovaline. (Porter, 1995) also with various clavine alkaloids such as chanoclavine, agroclavine and penniclavine(Lyons et al., 1986). An Acremonium sp. is known to induce an effect on horses eating Sleeypygrass, Stipa robusta, and this Acremonium sp. has been found to contain ergine, isoergine, ergonovine as well as 8-hydroxylysergic acid amide and chanoclavine(Petroski et al., 1992). The only described species of Acremonium which is known to infect the genus Stipa is A. chisosum which infects S. eminensS. robusta, S. lobata. Neotyphodium is a synonym of Acermonium. It is worth a shot.

It also contains some sort of tremorgenic 1-aminopyrrolizidines in it that are responsible for staggers in horses. they are found in Argyreia nervosa as well. One of them being loline. Could it be that there are similar substances in phalaris grass?

I drank a strawberry nectar to prevent the the nastier feeling side effects(like headache & backache) because strawberries contains salicylic acid which is like aspirin.
