Yeah, it can be so powerful, it can screw up your grammar and punctuation.
When you meditate, you are essentially augmenting your vibrational state. That is what sets you apart from everything else in this world. When you raise your vibration, you begin to exist on other planes of existence....
You will notice, when you are quieting your mind, there is a level of mass interferrence and distractions. Get beyond this and you're golden.

There are a few things you can do....
You can build you a word, that means something to you, that you can chant softly and slowly upon exhale.... I have a few for morning use when I don't have time to settle into the quiet zone naturally... Hapsitive I use mostly... - Haaaaaappssaaaatiiiive... I repeat upon each exhale....
Another method... Visualization... I visualize a single leaf, falling in infinite space and darkness, as it wobbles rotates and gyrates as it falls...
Loving kindness... Visualize the things around you, and think about how you have love for these things and people. It can start with the room you are in, emenate through your house, your block, you street, your neighborhood, and keep expanding.... this is a quest that has no end unless you can experience total loving kindness for the entire universe, at which point your head will explode into a vapor of intellectual ethereal magnetics..
One tip that I have found to be most helpful.. Is "Relax your tongue." Some people usually have to have someone tell them this.. Their body is still as possible, but their tongue has a mind of its own...
The intrusive voices.... There are two.. your own internal dialogue.. and voices that seem as if you were listening to someone's phone conversation...
Your own internal dialogue can be put to bed easily with some of the above reccomendations... Those other voices, well, you just have to learn to ignore them.. hope this helps

meditation is amazing..i don't know how i ever survived without it.. one simple trick for keeping concentration is called riding the breath. which is simply counting with inhales and exhales.. i usually try to visualize myself on top of a distant planet floating thru space..sitting on top of it. i am larger than the planet.. and also you can come up with whatever mantra you think could be beneficial to your situation.. example. it i'm feeling depressed. while inhaling "I am grateful" exhaling "for every breath"
sure you could come up with something better for you tho..

Counting breath is good. Remembering what the state feels like helps me to acheive it as well. I used to really try and stop my thoughts and have that blank slate effect, now i kind of achieve the blank slate and then let the thoughts come but not attach myself to them, i find you are really wise in this state and can have some good thoughts.
