PF cake misting/ dampness question

I'd like to thank everyone on here for helping me with my 1st meager pf tek attempt. I thought I really did my homework, but I'm afraid I messed up and let my cakes get too dry. I had the wet perlite, fish aerator and 2 apparently wrong rh meters telling me what I wanted to hear the whole time. Out of 7 cakes I've had the 2 oldest fruit. One had 2 small and an abort, and the other just 1. I got some advice in time to possibly salvage the "1". It does look a lot bigger then the others. That kind of makes me think I'm on the right track to fixing my little problem. Less sunshine, more humidity, more fae, dark cycle = better. I'd like to ask if simply dunking the others and keeping them moist will allow them to resume as normal? Or did I do long term damage? Should cakes be moist at all times? I've kind of misted a lot lately, (I mean a lot) and I was wondering if that too can do damage? I added the vermiculite layer to the top of the cakes and my one little shrooms attitude towards water seems to be "the more the merrier". Can mycelium tolerate it that well? I seem to have the ability to grow bigger now, I just have to work on getting several pins. Any advice or predictions as to weather or not I've wiped out most of my batch already? Guess I'll know for sure in a couple weeks huh? Thanks again.

Dear AK,
I haven't done cakes for some time ..... when I did, I could tell the cakes level of hydration from its weight (when I carefully handled them).
Nice heavy cake = Lots of water.
Light weight cake = needs to be dunked.
Yes, mycelia will tolerate water .... as evidenced by the whole dunking thing.
I think you are OK ..... unless your cakes have been sitting around for some time, bone dry.
Dunk them overnight .... roll them in vermiculite .... mist them alot to the point of "glistening" .....
I think you will get some more fruiting.
Good luck, have faith Brother !
Rico
