boring jars

ive had these brf jars incubating for ahhh a month now and they are almost done they were movin really really slow for like 2 and a half weeks so i got a new heater and put it on like 86 degrees now they are moving faster but still slow dont get it they are pink buffalo which are suppose to move fast or they are china yunnan but i dont know bout these. whats goin on?????????

Could be a number of things..


Gas exchange? How do you have the jars setup?

Are the jars moist?

Things like this especially gas exchange is what you want to look at.

I don't think it is the newly supplied heater that has sped up colonization. Mycelium tends too move "quicker" as it grows. Without any additional information, I would say that moisture content is the problem. But it's hard to say without any more info.

i would have to believe that my cakes are pretty moist. they just look good not dry and for the past week i have loosened their lids and turnrd them upside down

if they are too wet, then that can slow colinisation down. give it some more time.

If they have stalled then u can cut the uncolinised part out and birth them. How far are they from being 100% also remember that when the outside surface is fully done u should still leave it another 5 - 7 days.

i would say about 90-95 percent done....and yeah i have no choice but to wait. first grow here ya know how that goes just anticipating my first flushes.....
