my cakes never pin...

here's the scenerio. i put 12 brf cakes in my fc on monday maybe tuesday. i mist and fan around 4-5 times a day. its a shotgun style fc with 4-5" of damp perlite. and i still have not one single pin. this is my 2nd attempt with these cakes the first one i went a month, month and a week maybe with no signs of pinning either and said fuc it and decided to crumble them and case them and they sat like that for awhile until they eventually got contaminated.
am i doing something wrong to never get any pins on these cakes. i can always get them to colonize just perfect no problems but nothing happens when i go to fruit them its so frustrating.
on my first batch did a month seem to long for no pins? should of i just kept waiting it out???
i would really like some help on this ine guys thanks

Are you using some kind of clone? It is possible to have a non fruiting variety. Are they getting all the pinning triggers as in fresh air, 95%+ Rh, and light?

some of my cakes are starting to get really white little finger looking things. signs of pinning???
but they are all seeming to get this REALLY white fuzz on them, are they continuing to colonize? or is this normal?

they'll get fuzzy, an the white finger tips are probably pins.
are they thick and stubby and kind of roundish, or strandy and needle like, like a spike?
misting 5 times a day sounds excessive. fanning 5 times doesnt.

ill cut down on the misting to maybe 2-3 times a day and keep up on the fanning
some of the fingers are small and knotty and some do look like spikes. whats that difference???
thanks for the help

the ones that look like spikes are usually an indicator of too high of humidity. its actually mycelium thats trying to grow into the air due to the above.
whereas the small, amorphous lumps that are kinda round (and initially look like little white pimples) are the pins.

Do you have your cakes sitting directly on the perlite? They could be colonized the perlite instead of fruiting. Otherwise I am at loss.

i made the syringes myself from some spores that i aquired through a trade. my first attempt at cakes my spores were from a vendor and i thought that was the reason but it cant be now.
my cakes sit on some rabbit fence that i have propped up off the perlite.
this sux!!! to come so far and have nothing.

I fan 4 times a day and mist 4 times a day.
Really dont understand as i dont even know what my RH

so instead of starting a new thred i bumped this one again just to let everybody know i finially got PINS! i went up to the north shore for the weekend and came back and found hundreds of pins on my sixteen cakes. what a great closer to my weekend.
my question is though a lot of them have white on the caps. is this a sign of humidity being to high or low or is this normal?
and how long does it usually take for pins to become mature adults roughly?
thanks for all your help guys...

The white on the caps is normal I believe. Eventually you wont be able to see that. And as for the estimation, for me it usually goes 10-12 daysish
