a lot of the vegans I encounter/ know piss me off I work at whole foods so I also get a lot of customers who are vegan...and I can spot them a mile away. why do they feel like they need to define themselves by their diet. I've seen many who wear vegan clothes, patches, tattoos and whatnot. also the ones I actually know seem to always bring it up in conversation time and time again. is this really necessary?
obviously this doesn't apply to all of them, but I feel its a great deal of them

You know, I feel so sorry for vegans and vegetarians. They are missing out on so much flavor, texture, and general scrumptiousness (is that even a word?).
I'd still slam them, though.

I respect vegetarians...they have valid reasoning for their decisions and makes sense hell I would be one because I dont eat meat very often at all. but a good steak once every blue moon definitely fulfills my craving. just dont really have the dedication
I just dont get why vegans have to make it clear as water to everyone around them that they are vegan. keep you beliefs or whatever to yourself and share at an appropriate time if the topic comes up

Just an old school answer, i guess.
I simply feel bad for em. Thats it. The truth on how they are treated is very unethical. It is just an opion, however. I dont judge people on what they eat. Netiher extremes are very healthy.

beef and broccoli - immortal technique,
ook, let me make something abundantly clear for people that are so bereft of activities they feel like they gotta comment on every one of mine First of all, being a vegetarian should never be associated with being a revolutionary or being open minded, that's a dietary choice If someone wants to proliferate the type of ignorance we're supposed to be fighting by thinking that, you're just fucking yourself I don't go around promoting beef and poultry shoving it in peoples faces I don't castigate people for not eating steak sandwiches And I would never diss someone for being a fucking broccoli head or living off radishes or eating grass with tofu I like a lot of vegan cuisine but the illogicality of expecting everyone to adopt your particular idea of what being healthy is, is just preposterous I've seen some of you herbivores, and if you wanna argue health y'all need to eat some kind of supplement because some of y'all are so skinny that it's disgusting Lookin like the only hip hop motherfuckas on Schindler's list Being a malnutrition ass got nothing to do with being revolutionary or being on point I'll be damned if I let somebody else push their agenda on me You know, I don't eat pork, not cause I'm a Muslim I just don't really like it, but I really will fuck a bird up And fish is good when that shit is fresh It's like my nigga Vast Aire from Can' Ox said If you don't like the smell of burning meat, then get the fuck off the planet You know, I don't criticize people for eating moss And don't open your fuckin mouth about my food man I like beef and broccoli motherfucka, mind your God damn business Matter of fact, you know what? I'm out I feel like a some aronco pollo, a banana daiquiri and a motherfuckin bistelpanado

I can understand that there are some annoying vegans & vegetarians out there, but we are not all arrogant and preachy.
I don't really care if other people eat meat, but look at it from my point of view.
For some crazy reason, the though of eating other creatures bothers me. Me not eating animals shouldn't offend someone on the same level as say, you eating them to me.
Once again, I wouldn't preach it to someones face, but I still have a right to think it, just as you have a right to think i'm strange for eating broccoli.

All is a miracle.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

Drink a protien supplement, I do when I workout...but you need extras when you exercise and lift weights. But I still would love fish, it has hardly any fat at all..it is natural. Dont get the salmon patrol on me yet! haha, fish are meant to eat..ahh poor fish! oh yea BTW have you ever smoked marijuana? it gives you the mad munchies! So yes sometimes I eat my share of fatty foods sometimes. so what? I know I am not a true hippie, I need to smoke a bowl I am not as high anymore..

i honestly don't think there should be any moral issue with killing another animal yes you take a life but that IS life if you take any element out of the food chain it would be detrimental and we are as important an element in the food chain as any other
so i advocate the eating of meat i actually think that if you want to eat only meat you should go ahead and do so
say there was a role reversal and we were in farms and chicken were eating us you think they'd give a shit no

Wow. I love bees assholes. I love honey in my tea, it helps my throat. Excretions from the anus is like medicine. Certain vegans who are too picky will not live as long if theyre too picky & bitchy about flavors or if it's not even animal based. I mean hell we all need to borrow from another. It's primal & human instinct.

USDA approved meat is at an all time low in quality. Many countries around the world would refuse to eat American meat. I simply can't stand for how the big ag business makes it's hard for small good farms to turn over profits without corrupting their quality. It's terrible how they treat the animals. Cageing 100,000's of animals with literally no space to move pumped up on hormones, steroids, and antibiotics all the time is nowhere near humane. Plus the meat we consume on a daily basis in America is just downright unhealthy.
So I quit eating meat about 3 months ago. It was something I wanted to do for a long time, but I truely loved beef. But now, looking back, I enjoy what I eat now a whole lot more. I really don't think there is anything appetizing about meat anymore. In fact, anytime I go out to eat I see entre one after another all based around meat. But when you have a vegetarian dish, the flavor is so much more robust and unique. Plus you don't have to cook everything to the degree you have to meat. I do however eat fish, and I don't like to do that. I love the taste, but the only reason I eat it is to give me that precious fish oil. I need my protein and Omega 3, 6, 9's. But even the fish I eat is always wild caught, not farm raised. I try not to eat any eggs unless they are free range organic. I also try to eat as much organic fruits and vegetables as I can. I eat anything I can raw.
I do still drink cows milk which I plan on cutting out...my last real food addiction. I love milk, but its not all good for you. Vanilla soy milk acutally tastes good, and have more vitamins in it all together. But as far as honey goes, honey is natures antibiotic and cleanser. Unpasteurized honey does wonders for your health if you consume it on a daily basis.
But bottom lines, I try to do everything based around health. If its not healthy, I don't like to do it.

Ummmm, no.
I'm pretty tired of so many people saying that. No I don't want any steaks in my salad or whatever. That's like saying everyone who doesn't eat cabbage is crazy. It's personal preference! If some vegetarian or vegan is really craving some meat, they can STFU and go eat some. I ate only veggie food (no dairy either) for a whole summer, and when I ate a greasy burger with a beef steak one evening it tasted pretty shitty. Haven't seen any reason to touch it since.
But yeah I know what people mean, preachy hardcore vegans are really annoying! They have a crappy attitude and are only pissing people off. Most humans don't give a shit, are too stupid to understand what they talk about or enjoy meat and are only interested in their own pleasure (conscious choice).
I eat organic and vegan food when I can afford it because it makes me feel good and is tasty. Dairy is crap but my school's free veggie lunch has it so...

Veganism seems a bit too hardcore for me, but just for the heck of it I sometimes go vegetarian for a couple of months, just for a change of flavors in my diet. I can make a vegetarian pizza that kicks shit out of anything I've ever tried with meat on it, with the help of some flavor filled fungi of course.

obviously this doesn't apply to all of them, but I feel its a great deal of them
im all about eating healthy, organic, and i try to be as much of a vegetarian as i can, i just cant stay away from poultry and seafood. but i know what you mean, theyre way too overbearing about it, they try to push it on everyone, all the time. now dont get me wrong, ill jump into an already occuring argument, or if someone brings it up ill talk about it, but i dont feel the need to push my dietary beliefs on anyone unless theyre willing to hear it or argue about it. it pisses me off when anyone does this about anything in life like religion or any other lifestyle.
i think many of their problems are that they think they are better than the rest of us, due to the fact that they can make the sacrifices that the rest of us choose not to.

Having followed a vegan diet for over five years I have to agree that many vegans and vegetarians have a holier-than-thou attitude they justify by pointing to their diet.
Some claim that by abstaining from meat and dairy they have found a means of sustenance which does no harm to the earth or their fellow man.
What they often fail to point out is the equivalent amount of packaging required for their foods, the same innefficient farming and transportation methods used for any supermarket products, and the presence of chemical processing and pesticides in their food.
The resources saved by skipping animal products are significant, but industrial fertilizers and fossil fuels are still humping that tofu to my dinner table.

yeah. i agree. thats why i get all of my produce from local produce stands. i try to stick with the ones that are smaller, as they usually dont use all of the fertilizers and chemicals. i try to get my poultry from local butchers as well. seafood.... not much i can do about that. i get what i can locally, but most of it is imported.
