Question about Humidity

Today I noticed my casing hardly had any pins on top, but when I took the plastic bag bottom off that it was sitting in, the sides were completely covered in pins! It's a 2lb grainbased substrate that is cased in verm and MGMC...been in fruiting conditions for about 5 days. It seems that the pins were only coming in where the moisture was collecting between the plastic bag and the myc, so I assume the liberal misting I do 2-3 times a day isent enough.
Is this solution a bad idea???
Since all sides were cased and tons of myc was coming through everywhere I took the bag off the substrate to let all the pins grow (similar to how I see pf tek cakes in a FC), and covered all the reflective surfaces in my FC so light only comes from the top so the pins go up. To add a little humidity I filled a small cup with water and a little peroxide and set it in the FC, thinking it will evaporate into the air. Is this is a no-no?
Thanks, Bof

pins form where conditions are correct, the high level of rH on the sides, and the collection of water, is why it pinned there the most. IT WILL pin on the top, I like to form my susbtrate blocks in the bag with a slight dome effect, keeping moisture flowing on it.
you'll be fine, those sidepins mature into very nice fruitbodies, just check my gallery out you'll see lots of em.

that is what I gathered, but still i am worried because of almost an absence of pins on top. I have a similar but larger casing next to it in the FC that has the same thing happening only the few pins that form on top abort.
BTW these are not in a mycobag, in case I made it sound like that.

yeah you did, if it's not in a mycobag, and not a monotub, you need to make sure your casing layer is moist, sounds like there is no moisture on your casing layer.

I try to keep the casings pretty juicy, when I mist it I spray above the whole aquarium and let it settle until the casings are covered with a slight "glimmer" of water, like you can see an even layer of tiny tiny water specs on the casing.
