Must just change relative to location then, which makes perfect sense. Half of my family is from the New England area, hence the lobster, and I'm from Alaska, hence the crab.

Never heard it with a frog though, I like it!

As would I, but as far as the sayings go the frog has a lot better of a chance of escaping the water regardless of if it's boiling or not.

Not if they had their claws rubber banded shut.

Putting a live lobster into boiling water seems pretty cruel to me. I'll eat lobster but I want it dead when it goes in the pot.
