Hunting thread

Hey guys, I am starting a thread that I can come back to from time to time and post a few random hunting shots in for people to have a look at, because unfortunately I can't devote nearly as much time to my favourite hobby as I would like to lately because of work (hey, lets be honest - even if I could devote ALL my time to it, that still wouldn't be enough.... ).
So have a look and feel free to leave comments and chatter, and as I sift through my horribly un-organised digital mess of photos I'll post a few in here.
These are from this season thats just finished (we have just moved into Spring) that I have been meaning to post -

^ This is some sort of crazy Agaricus sp. I found growing right on the coast, a couple of hundred metres from the ocean straight out of the sand, on the edge of the 4wd access to the beach. Notice the piles of sand on the caps! They had a very pungent (quite repulsive) odour from memory.

^ This is possibly a Gymnopilus sp.? Found growing from sandy/gravel soil.

^ An Amanita sp. found in native bushland in the leaf litter, growing out of sandy soil.

^ P. subaeruginosa....

^ Omphalotus nidiformis - or "ghost fungus", a bio-luminescent species.
Stay tuned...

I thought it may have been a luteofolius as well, after seeing your pot plant pictures Alan, though I noticed no bruising at the time. Though I'm also not sure that this species grows in Australia - this link is some of the only info I can find on it - HERE .
Thanks for chiming in Cactu and kaal - I love both of your posts/photo skills a lot!

i do not notice the bluing until almost next day or too late to go back , or sometimes don´t even show ,,one out of 3 of my specimen that where in the same log preset a bluing more evident in the cap, so thats gymnopilus sometimes, also maybe in the Alan pot he may be using more fertilizes for his plant and sand is a really poor medium ,some wood must be buried, but may lack of many nutrients ,, all my best

It was actually found near a pile of old firewood so it must be growing from some wood under the ground, though didn't see any. It actually appeared to be popping straight up from the gravel.
Peace to you mate.

^ Austroboletus occidentalis - Ridge stemmed Bolete, a really slimy, extremely bitter tasting fellow. Not edible, but after you touch it you can't get the taste off your fingers...
