There has been a lot of talk (good and bad) about Spores101 on this here site. Thought I'd better throw in my two cents' worth.
I live in a country where shrooms, and indeed spores (hypothetically, of course) can get me some serious jail-time, so I wanted the spores posted to my friend in the UK, who could then repackage them to my satisfaction before they were nervously dispatched to the fascist autocracy where I reside.
I posted my cold hard cash to Spores101, yes, actual Yankee dollars, and they sent my order straight to the UK. Small problem though, I'd sent a hand written order, not an online form, and they'd sent me syringes, not prints.
I emailed them and straight away they said keep the syringes and sent out spores asap. (As a side note, if anyone in the UK wants the syringes, PM me and we can work something out).
The spores were repacked and arrived here safe and sound.
Only good things do I have to say about Spores101. I think that in any mail order-retail business mistakes will happen, and, how shall I say it?. When your customers may be partial to recreation, things may be more easily confused. I'll certainly order from them again.

Yeah, if they make a mistake they will never let a customer leave unhappy.

I've never done any business with them. So, I can't say how good they are
I just didn't like how they use someone else pictures.( You're a company, with three stores, two in the US and one in the UK and you can't take you own pictures of legal mushrooms. )

Bah, shit like that happens bro. The real question is did they have permission to rip the pic off, if they indeed ripped it off.
You'll also notice that several of the P Cube strains have the exact same pictures for different strains even on the same page. I personally do not expect them to grow and take pictures of every strain they have, it'd be ridiculous (and illegal).

The answer is a resounding no. They do not have permission to steal Workmans pictures and his text. Absolutely not. I doubt Paul Stamets is very happy about it either. And there is certainly no excuse for stealing like that. These are legal, edible mushrooms, of course they're expected to produce their own pictures. Stealing copyrighted information is not kosher. This is not the first time they've done it, this has happened before. It was not acceptable then, nor is it now.

Point made. I wonder what spores101 has to say about this.

You used to work for us so I don't see where you get off with all these comments. Everything we have on our web site has been okay'd with the proper sources and you know it. I'm sorry we couldnt do business anymore but you don't need to redirect your anger by bashing us in the forums.
We are also days away from releasing our new site with updated EVERYTHING.

Used to work for you? I think partnership is the appropriate term here. It's my understanding that Monstermitch supplied you folks with the substrate bags Mushbox used to sell. I would hardly call that working for you, at least in the context you're putting it.

I'm assuming you mean by your attorneys with that comment. I've spoken with the vendors who have these photos posted and I was given the impression they were taken without permission. I don't think anyone is saying what you did was illegal, but ethics do play a significant role here.
Anyway, I'm ranting now. Please, continue this discussion.

This discussion came up months ago and from my understanding it was taken care of between all parties involved and we recently redesigned the entire spores101 website to reflect the issues at hand.
The new site will speak for itself.
We apologize to anyone who is offended by us or think we are not reputable company. If you don't want to buy from us that's O.K. because there are tons of other excellent vendors here.
We pay our monthly fees and try our best to not only satisfy our customers but to forward them to these forums so that they can experience the education and information we all have.

You sir are a liar. I never worked for your company, nor would I ever. You used to work for me if you want to say it like that. Your company retailed my products, making you an employee of mine if anything.
Your company certainly does not have permission to have those photos and that text posted on your site. If you do, please have Sporeworks or Workman comment here saying so. Because as I understand it, they've been stolen, not borrowed with permission.
Your company and I are a separate matter all together. If you would like, I'll post here the history between us so everyone can decide for themselves.

I see what you are saying but in our company a "partner" would be someone with a huge amount of invested interest and contribution from the begining. Not someone we bought 100 compost bags from.

I'm well aware that my opinion here doesn't matter at all, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in, seeing how this is all public:

That sure seems like a company trying to keep their business

I don't think anybody can deny that you are a company who satisfies your customers (if my situation was any indication). And, for the record, I purchased from spores101 before ever coming onto the shroomery (A friend, Jorsher, turned me onto both), so your site does bring in a lot of traffic to the forums.

I dunno if spores101 would like it, but I certainly would, just for shits and giggles. Stealing shit from other sites certainly is not something I would do, but I don't know about you. Perhaps you are a company that is a little more ethically loose then me, to each his own. If your attorneys say it's OK legally then right on to you, but BTW it's a real dick move.

If it was brought up months ago, how come the stolen pictures are still on your website? You never answered, are they indeed stolen?
Oh, and by the way, if you retail somebody else's shit for them you are more of an employee to them as they are to you.
Drama!
P.S. This is totally off topic, but a little birdie told me spores101 is based in california and has mail forwarders in Canada and the other location (I don't remember, georgia or some shit?). The orders go to the Canada office or the other office and then are forwarded to the real people, in Cali, and packages are shipped the same way. I've been told this is an explanation for why it takes so long for spores101 to receive regular postage. Anybody know if this is true? Just curious.

im sorry i read this. the plantiff should stop ragging in public, forcing 101 to respond in this venue. Its petty and has nothing to do with ME. (the end user.) feel free to use any pretty pictures i post to the internet as they have not been published or copyrighted. Just dont credit me without asking because i prolly stole them myself.
