They aren't active for sure! Just as a suggestion: Read the archives for active mushrooms in your area, study them and then go hunting for them. There are thousands of different mushroom but only a few are considered active and even less will grow in your part of the world. So things would be a lot easier for you and us (as long as you just want to know if they are active or not and not want to receive a general ID on some kind of mushroom), if you'd try to only post ID Requests of mushrooms that fit into your scheme of appearance AFTER you've read about them!
As I said, no offense, but a suggestion
Good luck

Probably, Lyophyllum decastes, if so it should have a white print. It's not to common in the northeast U.S., I usually find it this time of year and at the end of spring.

I'm thinking Tricholoma.
What kind of trees were nearby? Nearby means close enough that if you cut the tree down it could hit you.
Is the cap surface slimy or dry? If the weather has been dry recently, put a drop or two of water on it and rub a little bit.
Do they have any odor?
Brown capped Tricholomas are a major pain to ID. There are a bunch of them and they look very much alike. Some are edible, some are poisonous, none are active.
Happy mushrooming!
