This is my first post...be gentle...

Is this Panaeolus castaneifolius?

Habitat: Found growing in cow manure.
Gills: Very dark purple/pretty much black now.
Stem: White. Had a blueish sheen to it.
Cap: White or brown and smooth.
Spore Print: Black.
Location: Southern OK.
I didn't really check for bruising but the big one has excreted a lot of black liquid.

Thanks.

The bottom pic appears to be a lawn Panaeolus similar to the ones I have been finding. I am not sure if I've ever actually found a Pan Caster but I have found lots of active panaeolus that had incurved margins. But I believe that there are several species or subspecies that grow in my area that are all similar in appearance.
However, that spore print is a little light. Try letting them sit for 12 hours or more to let the prints saturate. It will be much easier to tell the color. I have had some foes lately that had very dark prints, but when looked at through the loupe they were oviously very dark brown.
If it is an active lawn pan, then you are going to need a WHOLE lot more.

EDIT:

I'm sorry i didn't read they post right. You said you found these in manure. I may be out of my area in that case.
Someone else with experience in dung dwelling pans will have to give their say.

Thanks for the reply and information. These were definitely in cow dung. They were growing in almost every patty.
I will start a new spore print today.
